I used to feed DD2 in her room & I set up a little tv in there so I could watch & not fall asleep from boredom.

Even though he's in a cradle next to my bed, we wander out to the lounge with a dim light on. I have my laptop for entertainment or the tv and hard drive with downloaded tv (because infomercials suck). I occasionally snuggle him into bed for his 5am feed and sometimes I'm lucky enough for him to go back to sleep till 7-ish.

I night fed dd in front of tv, turned down low. I tried one feed in the chair in her room and it made me go batty, isolated and depressed for some reason. I never fed in bed, I did not want her associating our room as a rest/food outlet. Even in hospital I never fed my dd in bed. Bed is a sacred space for me and my DH and I do not want that invaded but that is just me.

I do the same as you OP ... My little one is just over 9 weeks old and is waking a zillion times a night... So its just easier ... I either browse the net on my phone or iPad or play draw something or another simple game

I can't see us changing this setup anytime soon .. I'm too tired to move him to his own room and be traipsing Round the house during the night

When my children were in a basinette in our bedroom I would feed them in bed lying down ( (following safe co-sleeping guidelines as I would sometimes fall asleep). Sitting up in bed is really bad for your neck, back and shoulders. Ouch!

Once they moved to their own room, a comfortable armchair in their room. DS is now 12 months and I use the chair for all feeds. I use to bring him back to my bed for any wake ups after about 4am but he sleeps longer in his own bed. I travel with the children a bit and often have to feed sitting on beds etc and really long for the armchair when I am away.

I BF my DS2 in the lounge room on the recliner chair while I watched TV at night time. It was one of the few times that I could watch what I wanted to on TV because everyone else was in bed, so I didn't mind having to get up in the middle of the night most of the time. I didn't want to feed the baby in my room because I didn't want to wake my DH up during the night.

I always fed in bed at night as our bedrooms are all up one end of the house and the lounge up the other - I hated walking through hte house in the dark! DS was also in a cradle in our room until he was 3 months as well - I just sat up (or slumped half asleep when he fed every hour Tounge1.gif) - and as he got older I would sometimes ask DH to shove right to the other side and lie down and feed DS - he always seems to sleep better when I do so - but he's very cuddly so that oculd also be it as well.

I feed in his room, on the glider chair in that we have in there, but he sleeps in there, the changetable is in there and there is a dimming light in there so its a whole 'environment' that I have set up. It also has, spew rags, water bottle, my phone on charge and snacks, all within arms length from the chair, makes life easy wink.gif

I have always felt like our bed is exactly that. Our bed. Its the one space that we have that is ours and sacred. I know others don't think this way though. I also detest having to change the sheets more than once a week because there is breast milk all over them from him spewing, and me spraying laugh.gif

I fed DD in the lounge for the first few months then after a whle I got so tired I would get her from her bed and lay in our be (DH sleeps through anything).

With DS I have fed him laying in bed from day 1 - I often fall asleep while feeding and wake an hour later because he is restless, he hates sleeping in our bed so then it's back to his bed. I out a sick rag under his head to keep the sheets clean

The only drawback - he likes to feed lying down all the time!
