Just wanted to say I had them too from the pressure of the babies. With my first I had a massive one (from pushing)and the nurse gave me hirudoid cream to put on it. The relief was almost instant, after a few applications. With my second the chemist gave me proctosedyl and it was not near as good. This time I just got the Hirudoid, even though it's not specifically for hemorrhoids ( the assistant at the chemist thought I was weird) I found the pain goes within a day and they shrink within a few days. *not recommending it, just saying it was the thing that worked fr me.

OP, I'm in the same situation as you. I got a stage 4 haemorrhoid a month ago simply due to the pressure of the baby against my bowel. The pain was incredible. I went to the GP who nearly fainted when he saw it and referred me to see a colorectal surgeon two days later, by which time the pain had lessened significantly.
The surgeon said the haemorrhoid would not resolve itself and that it could possible worsen during labour. He said he could remove it surgically before labour but the pain associated with the incision could possibly be worse than what I was currently experiencing. His advice was to wait until I had the baby and then come back to see him for possible surgical treatment. He said if the haemorrhoid was causing me a lot of pain immediately after the birth I could call him and he would come perform the surgery immediately. |
