I have a Maxi rider which was purchased in 2009 and today the buckle has come undone 3 times, I have taken it out of my car and refuse to use it until it's fixed or replaced. I've just searched the house for the receipt but can't find it :-( I sent them an email explaining but I guess without the receipt they wont do anything even though it has a date of manufacture. Has anyone had this issue and been successful?

When the buckle comes undone, it is usually because it needs a good clean, sometimes lint, dust, food, drink, sticky stuff gets in there and stops it working fully.

So take the buckle out of the seat completly, run the whole thing under running warm water to clean it through.

Hope this helps original.gif

spotty.

i doubt that it's under warranty any more. You can buy replacement parts (including the buckle).
I would give it a good wash first.

Thanks for the replies, it actually is under warranty still, the buckle has a 5 year warranty and the seat is 3 years old.

I did give it a good clean a few weeks back when it did this the first time, as stated in the manual, anyway a lovely lady called me from Britax to say they will happily send us a new buckle free of charge smile1.gif

I have - and found the company wonderful to deal with. There is a sticker on your seat with the date of manufacture and serial number - this is all you should need.

Thanks Semantics, I have a new buckle on it's way too me, you're right though they are wonderful to deal with, they couldn't have been more helpful and responded to my email within about 10 mins.

As you've found out they do seem to operate on the date of manufacture. I got 2 hi-liners repaired (back board replaced) and ddn't have a receipt for either of them.

Similar scenario for me... they didn't even ask for date of seat... they just sent me out a new buckle! Very prompt and very impressed!
