Bit of both here too - a lot of stuff is from scratch, such as casseroles, soups, etc. My in-laws (Sicilian) make their own spaghetti sauce, but it's made from Roma tomatoes and I can't eat it. It's far too rich but they provide half of their small town with pasta sauce. At any given time they probably have close to 900 longnecks of it in their garage and it keeps quite a long time.... so I suppose that counts as both homemade AND out of a jar because you can find yourself using a batch from a little while ago. And even they don't make their own pasta, but they do make the most amazing pizza from scratch, including the dough. I love it when they bring whole trays of that over!

However we often do make something from a packet or jar. And I'm quite happy to use them when I need to, or even when I feel like one of those meals.

I almost always bake cakes/biscuits/slices etc from scratch. My Nan always made her own cakes and I've become accustomed to the way they taste and I still use all her recipes. DH occasionally brings home something from a bakery though.

I'm somewhere in the middle.

I don't like the taste of those sachet packet mix things, and wouldn't use them. A good number of them make me feel sick aftwrwards.

I don't make my own stock.

I'm starting to make my own pasta. Baking (when it happens) is from scratch.

Most of our herbs come from our garden, but I do have a few bottled ones as well for things that I don't need often, or don't want to grow in our garden.

We've started growing our own veggies, and will start using them when they're ready to harvest, in addition to getting an Aussie Farmers delivery of everything else.

My biggest downfall would be Valcom Masman Curry Paste, I've never been able to make one from scratch that tastes as good as that bottled one.

I am in the middle as well, I try to make most things from scratch, but I do keep the odd jar in my cupboard for convenience.

Sometimes my cupboard has more than I like when I am flat out with work and I go for the easy option because I am not prepared.
