Hi All

Do you like this name? Does it seem like a very biblical name to you? Is it a bit boring? Do you perceive it as popular? Do you know of many little ones called Caleb?

Feel free to answer any or all of the above!

Thanks!

I like the name, I have a nephew named Caleb.

It is very popular though. Seems to me that every third little boy I meet between the ages of 5 and 9 is named Caleb.

I like it. I've never met a Caleb so I'm not sure how popular it is.

It's been in the top hundred in the US since 1989 and I've met a lot of them, it's now in the top 50 there and I think in the top hundred here as well. But maybe its a bit fresher here.

I don't dislike it like I don't think "ew" but I don't love it. Not fond of Cal as a nickname, either.

Personally I prefer Cassius (cash-us) or Cyrus (which is also Biblical) or a lot of other Biblical names. However Caleb has in its favour its probably a lot easier for many people to handle than, say, Kemuel.

I have a nephew Caleb too, not a big fan, it reminds me of that redneck little boy in that show American Gothic (circa 1997).

I'm pretty sure this name is pronounced as it's spelt, not with a shh-sound.

I've never heard it said that way. Cassius as in Cassius Clay?

Yes, I quite like it. I don't think you can go too wrong with biblical names. My son is Isaac. original.gif
