Hi All,

I'm needing some advice on convertible booster seats.

My parents are wanting to get one for their car for the child children, 2 x 3yr old and an 11mth old for use when they have one of the children. Ideally, it would be best to get the most use out of the seat for the dollars spent I am thinking a convertible booster.

My son is in the 95-97% percentile for height, but only 25% percentile for weight, and I want to keep him in a harness for as long as I can. My nephew is 50% & 50%.

What would you recommend that has tall shoulder straps and has good CREP ratings?

If it is to be installed permanently in the car I would suggest the New Maxi Rider AHR T&A as it adjusts from the front and also has very high shoulder markers.

Not many 2010 standard seats have been CREP tested.

There is the Infa Luxe Crown which is a 0-8yes seat so goes RF, FF and Booster. It has been CREP Tested and does rate well. Only issue is it world need to be taken out to adjust between kids.

I agree with the PP - while the Maxirider is expensive, in this sort of scenario I think you can justify the cost by the ease of use of having a seat that doesn't have to be removed to adjust the harness height. Otherwise there may be a temptation to leave the harness at the same height for the 11 mo as it is for the 3yo which would be unsafe.


IMHO ease of use is the top priority for restraints for grandparents cars. I have found my parents have sometimes installed my kids seats quite poorly in their car, despite being shown what to do.
