Hi Guys,

Had to reply to Izzy's post.

Izzy - I had an ectopic pregnancy (exactly 7 years ago today actually, 22 April 2005, in my left fallopian tube. I still have the tube - but it's now blocked - as the drs found the ectopic pregnancy before the tube ruptured). Did you have a blood HCG test? What level was it?
If you are at risk of ectopic, you should have 2 blood pregnancy (HCG) tests 2-3 days apart. Often an indicator for an EP is that the HCG levels aren't doubling every 2-3 days. When I had mine the levels were rising but they weren't doubling.

Because of my history I am at risk of another ectopic too, the minute I know I am pregnant I have to have at least 2 blood tests to make sure all is ok, then I have an ultrasound around 6 weeks to make sure all is in the right spot.

Bellefin - In my last post I somehow missed reading about your BFP, congratulations to you! I hope your pregnancy goes well.

Hello to everyone I have missed. I may not post a lot but I read regularly.
Take care everyone!

Hello. Sad and devestated again today. Day 22 of my cycle, 9 days post iui and im spotting. Bugger! Anyone else had spotting a week before AF due while doing AC? iI think it only started when i started on the clomid but i cant remember. Really thought this one was going to be a winner. My heart is breaking, again and I dont know how long i can go on with this, i have spent the last 5 years trying to fall pregnant and im over it (not as long as some of you lovely ladies, so im really sorry about the whinge). dont know wether it would be better just to progress onto IVF. It seems there is no real reason for my infertility - everyone at the clinic just keeps saying, " you have done it twice before, there is no reason it cant happen again", which is frustrating as obviously there is something wrong......aaarrrggggggg!
as my great hubby says - "chin up tiger" - am trying really hard my love.

Sunshine - Do you spot early on not AC cycles? You could have a progesterone issue. Maybe ask them to humor you and on your next IUI ask for progesterone pressies- it can't hurt and it should hold off spotting even if you don't get a BFP.gif at least you will have some peace of mind of having a full 14 day LP.

Also you need more than just the CD21 BT to find out if you have progesterone issues, so even if you have had that test in the past and if came out fine, you could still have a issue. My 21CD test always comes out perfect, but within 48 hours it has dropped below 15 which it shouldn't until 12-13DPO, but until I had a doctor willing to do a series BT (basically a BT every 2nd day from 3DPO to 11DPO) I had no idea my progesterone was failing the way it was causing my early losses and stopping implantation. I find most FS tend to stick to the CD21 test only and not bother looking into LP defects more.

Izy - Hope your feeling better today.

Izy, how are you. Hoping this is just part of a healthy pregnancy for u!
Sunshine ... We did 5 IUIs, 3 mths Clomid & 2 mths fsh inject with no result! It's so frustrating especially when unexplained. A wise FS said to us 'you have no identifiable issues, Clomid won't enhance your chances of conception it will only increase chance of multiples, try naturally until you're over it then do IVF'. Wish we had of listened to her instead of wasting 6 months. After this 6 mths slight MF was mentioned...so this other treatment was a big waste. However, it DOES work for some ... I hope you're one of the lucky ones.

Izy - Sorry to hear you don't have any answers yet. Sounds like an awful experience.

Well only CD6 and I think I am already out. sad.gif Had bright red spotting and major period pains last night and this morning. My body really does not want to cooperate. So I think that's a total waste of a clomid cycle. Will ring clinic today and see what there advice is.

Izy sorry to hear you still have no answers - a positive test is a good sign though - hope you feel better and get some answers soon.

Studymuffin - that doesn't sound good hun so early on in your cycle?Hopefully you can get some answers 0 I did Clomid for 8 months and only ovulated once on it so it really did nothing at all for me.

Well can I have a little self indulgent whinge please....yesterday I woke up with the sorest throat and now today it is even worse I can hardly swallow...worst thing is I have to go to work today and I can't take day off as I have been having a few days off with IVF...I get school hols off so today is first day back at work. I just feel like crying...have slept badly and feel so awful I just want to curl up in bed and hide. I think the last few weeks are all catching up with me - plus I am still way behind with uni sad.gif

Sorry to complain but DH doesn't really get it and have hardly seen him as he has been working so much...but I will pull myself together and off I go...oh and called for doc appt yesterday as I think I will need anti -bi's as I usually do when I get an infected throat and no appointments until Friday!! Gee thanks that's helpful!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Oh hun that does sound positively dreadful. Men just don't get it do they? I have a really good relationship with DH but he doesn't have to experience what I do, and it doesn't affect him like it does me and I jsut don't think they get the full picture nor appreciate what we go through on this journey. Makes it feel quite lonely at times. You got us though original.gif

Just dose up on lots of cold n flu tabs, wash them down with some scotch and you'll be right haha *jk* But seriously, hope your throat gets better soon!

Rang clinic, they seem to think it's all part of the cycle and just to continue on and they'll see what going on with my next BT results. It all seems a little too AF like for me but anyway we'll see. My body just doesn't do what its supposed too - I get AF on the pill, I get AF on clomid .... the only time I dont get AF is when my cycle is left alone to do it's natural thing! One extreme to the other rolleyes.gif
