Hi,
Dd2 is 23 days old. Normal birth, not prem, she was fairly robust at 4.22kg. She is formula fed (I had a pph and transfusions an all that jazz and my milk never came in rah rah rah) Since birth she has been very sleepy, happily sleeping 5/6/7 hours at a time. At her 2 week check she had not regained her birthweight (although was close) so started waking her 3 hourly for feeds day and night. She is still sleepy an I have to wake her for most feeds. Her poos are quite liquidy and have a lot of stringy mucous in them, as well as mucus lumps. Today the mucous has started being brown tinged. Have an appointment with health nurse tomorrow but looking for some reassurance so I can sleep tonight! Oh and she isn't screaming or anything- I have pretty much only heard her cry twice since she was born. Does this sound normal or? |

It took my DS one month to regain birth weight - i had a very good MCHN who would see me weekly.. he was still putting on weight week to week and had enough wet and dirty nappies, so she wasn't concerned but thought better to be safe then sorry. So i wouldn't worry so much about the slow weight gain, as long as she is putting on weight. DS was also a great sleeper early on, and would only cry if he was in the car (he hated the car!).. This all soon changed!! I wouldn't worry too much about that either...
But the mucous in poo doesn't sound right, and could be a sign of an intolerance. I am sure seeing the nurse tomorrow will be able to give more information, i don't really know much about that. Good luck. |
