Just got back from the OB, and I have put in 4.5 kilo's in the last month!!! Is that normal? My last pregnancy, I was sick all the time, and gained weight in very small increments. The OB said it was on the high side of normal, and perhaps I should curb the cupcakes a bit...

I am picturing myself 30 kilos heavier by the end of this...

This puts me at 9kg at 25 weeks 4 days. I have been so hungry lately that I am even eating in the middle of the night because I wake up hungry and can't sleep.

I went through something like that between 24-26 weeks and I put on 3 kgs in that short time. I'm now 28 weeks and haven't put on ANY weight since 26 weeks yet there is a VERY noticeable difference in the size of my bump haha. That puts my overall weight gain at 8kgs. I think the weight gain should slow down a little now but your tummy will just keeping growing!
I have been eating much healthier though so that could have something to do with it. Try snacking on healthy things like fruit and nuts throughout the day. Makes a BIG difference original.gif

I hardly gained any weight throughout the whole shebang, until this last month, and was surprised to see it go up almost 4 kg.

And I know about the night time hunger! These last two weeks, I've been waking up about 2-3am starving! And it's not like I'm not eating throughout the day! But I've found that when I make a fruit and yogurt smoothie for dessert or pre-bedtime treat, it helps curb those cravings until morning.

Can't comment on this pregnancy but in my first one I had put on 7kg by 25 weeks and 9kg with my last one. This time round I had put on 12kg by 25 weeks.

After the first pregnancy the extra weight fell off easily within 3 months, the second wasn't as easy but managed to lose it all within 6 months. So I am giving myself a year after this one before I panic!

I got the mega hunger too! I don't know the time frame of the weight gain as I was away without scales but at 28w I've put on 11kg! The funny thing is, other than my belly I can still fit into all my old clothes. I look in the mirror and expect a bigger bump or showing weight gain elsewhere but no. Maybe I'm blind to it biggrin.gif

Either way I don't think I'll be keeping to the 14kg average... sad.gif

Hi all,

Im in my 29th week and have put on about 13kg. It my first baby and every tells me that I still look fit and am carrying it well.

Its my first baby and im really enjoying the way my belly and body is changing - just wanted to put it out there to enjoy your pregnancy and dont stress about putting on weight.

Just get back into the fitness and exercise once the baby has arrived and be happy that you have a healthy little baby growing inside you!

enjoy

Great attitude! Sincerely. I have never felt this way in any of my pregnancies as I personally don't deal too well with it, not from a weight perspective, more from a painful joints and varicose veins perspective, so it's nice to hear someone that is enjoying the changes.

I have had an increased weight gain this month too. Not sure how much cause the kids broke the scales. I will find out on Wednesday when I have my next OB appointment. I'm a bit scared about what he's ging to say about it though.
