I know we are not supposed to ask for medical advice and want to say I am waiting on a call back from my family doctor and have made an appointment to see her tomorrow, but wanted to get some advice/feedback in the meantime.
DS is 2 yrs and 3 months and has been having an increasing amount of blood noses over the last few weeks. He has always been a ‘finger up the nose’ kind of kid (unfortunately) and on previous occasions has had minor bleeds which can be directly attributed to this – someone has witnessed him with his finger up his nose – pull it out and there is a small bleed/bloody snot from that nostril. However in the few weeks he has had a couple of proper bleeds where it has been quite heavy and from both nostrils, and requires a bit of time and pressure to stop. These have not been related to any incident that we can tell – for example today he was sitting listening to a story at day care and it just started flowing (the teacher has just rung me). On Saturday he was walking along holding hands with his cousin and I (so both hands occupied) and again it started bleeding. I have never really had nosebleeds (except when hit in the face hard during sport a few times) but DH does occasionally (like one every 6-8 months) suffer them – will just wake up with one or it just starts randomly bleeding. Has anyone had any experience with anything like this? Thanks. |
