I went to the school uniform shop this morning to buy some winter pants for my twin boys.
But hit a big snag. Size 4 are way too short and only just tight enough around the waist and still silly wide. Size six are just long enough but ridiculously wide and won't stay up in any way Even their track pants are the same. And i am not a person who sees track pants as a school uniform for anything but sports. My problem now is where to get some pants. Does anyone know where I can get bottle green long boys pants that won't be too loose or too short and aren't so wide they look like clown pants? I am in Perth but I don't care where I get them from. |

Stubbies brand are great for long, skinny kids IME. They have a drawstring in case they are too big around the waist but aren't too roomy on the leg. DS is skinny as a bean pole and wears them successfully. They seem to be a long make. I get them at Target and Big W.

Thanks Howdo. I went into Target today and they had a couple of pairs of size 12 track pants and that was all.
But I will look up Stubbies |

Can I suggest next year to buy school pants at the beginning of the year? I had this problem last year, DS decided he wanted to wear pants but stocks were really limited.
This year I bought them all in January. Target have a microfibre pair of trackie pants that are nice, and I agree with the PP - the Stubbies ones are good too. |

I thought about it Avogardro but I was hesitant due to growth spurts. Even only getting them two pair each adds up in dollars.
I have just looked up Stubbies and will hit the phones tomorrow to find out who has them in stock. The bottle green colour is what makes it limiting otherwise I would get them off Nextdirect where I buy all their pants. |

that looks good Jaffacakes. Willetton is not far either.
I am going to call around and see who has what this morning. And then take a pair of pants that fit along with me for comparison. I think I will save my self a headache and just make the track pants we want. I will just model them on pants they have from NEXT and make them longer. Even the trackpants they currently have just fit their waist and are now bordering on too short. |

Don't forget that if you get FTB A, then you can now claim half the uniform costs on the Education Rebate - so you might be better off buying as opposed to sewing them. (which can add up when you include cotton and elastic) - of course, that depends if you can find the size and width you need. Good luck, my kids are super skinny too so I understand - except our only options are the school uniform shop as we have to buy the brand they stock.

ZM- we don't get FTB-A. SO no impact to us there.
Stubbies pants in that colour are sold out. Even Stubbies don't have them! Took current pair of fitting pants everywhere with me this morning to compare to any I might see, including track pants and it was a total FAIL Although I did snaffle the last 4 size 7 bottle green wind cheaters from BigW for a whole $5.48 each. So it wasn't a totally fruitless trip. Bargain since each school one with logo is $28 each. If they would just sell the bloody logo as transfers it would save parents an absolute fortune. My two can be Logo-less as far as I am concerned |

Have you tried Target and Big W online shopping? Particulary Target, they have a large range of schoolwear, not sure how much postage is but at least you don't have to go to a million different shops trying to find pants
