My DD has had no feeds during the night for few mths now, and it has helped greatly with her sleep, but she is waking at 4-5am and will maybe dose for 30 mins or so and then wants up, she has weetbix, buy isn't truely satisfied till she has her 200mls of milk, wondering if I have this to her when she woke and put her back to bed and that's her morning bottle done, so she doesn't get another one after breakfast? Or is this setting up a bad habit? DD just turned 1 last week, she is very petite (not 7.5kgs yet) and has three bottles 200 Mls morning, 125 lunch and 250 Mls bed ( have been slowly cutting down the lunch time one to cut it out) any suggestions would be great thanks original.gif

Mine would still be having a 4 or 5am breastfeed to get them back to sleep at that age. A bottle of milk probably would not be much different although is probably offer it in a sippy cup not a bottle.
Most children stir around the breaking of dawn & I also know kids whose wake up time is 4.45- 5am everyday regardless of food /fluids....its just the way they are.

Both my 4yr old & 21 month old often stir around 5 am but go back to sleep with a cuddle.

I wouldnt worry about not eating breakfast...it might just mean that of she has a bottle at 4 or 5 am then wake up and have a bit of a play before bekky . It might just be that breakfast will be a little later than it is now .

Give her a bottle and put her back to sleep!

I don't see a problem with an early bottle then a later breakfast. It gives you both more sleep! My DS is on 1 or 2 bottles a day and they are just as a comfort really. He gets his nutrition from his food. As you say though your DD is little so I understand you wanting her to keep up her milk intake.
