F it!

Raining... gah... Ah well, DH and are are thinking about going to the movies and seeing Margin Call.

Scruff - I cannot imagine how difficult it must be working out which option to take - I'm sure which you chose will be the right one. Thats awesome news about the safety net too - its so handy hey.
Oh and yeh, we did get a BD in Thursday afternoon but my gut is it was a touch too late... at least he will be a bit more understanding next month.

Kate - In your ear! holy cow - so pleased you are still sticking with the acu. I'm still going too and some days I am a bit yeh right, others I am a bit more convinced - however, I know my stress levels are right down, feeling much more settled and can cope better. And yes, I'm on the nothern beaches, walked from DY beach to Harbord diggers and back yesterday - can feel it today..

Mich - Thank you again for the list - we definately need one...

Hope everyone else is well today and have a lovely weekend.

Daisy - CONGRATS XXXX Wow 2nd BFP in as many weeks.

Congrats again Sarah(Kate) . Mmmmm Maggie Beer. I love her food.

Please feel free to come in and update us. I will be thinking of you both xxx

Bigwoo - What do you mean about IVFers switching u off?

Scruff - Interesting to read about your FS appointment. 8 weeks really isn't that long to wait, we have done so much waiting though so I know what you mean, I would just want to go with the shorter option but know the longer one is probably a better one. Hmmmm I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you.
When do you go back to FS?

SC - Its miserable here too today. Hubby is loving watching the F1, actually I don't mind watching all the pre race stuff, might get some junk food and just hang at home tonight, although the movies sound like a good option.

AFM - CD36, AF isn't coming regularly at all and the clomid isn't working. Thought our little getaway might have done the trick but of coarse it didn't. I haven't been able to get pg naturally for the past 3 years why would this month be any different, even with the clomid drugs!
IVF appointment on Thursday. I hope we get some answers. I think I'm going to have to get my head around IVF not being a quick process, I really don't want to wait around for another 6-12months tho, might need to get some counselling in after we've had our meeting.

Love to all the ET - I hope everyone is going well xxx

Morning Ladies, hope you are all having a great Monday.

Just waiting for Friday, for my appointment. I was starting to freak myself out on all fronts with the IVF but had a lovely Coffee with a friend on Sunday afternoon, she was brutually honest with me and I really appreciated it.

So I hope you are all well.

Mish - its good your friend was brutally honest with you about IVF.

I think people have a misconception that IVF is going to be the answer and its going to work. That is as far from the truth as possible. I think if you are doing IVF (this relates to anyone) you need to go into it expecting it will take a few cycles and that it just wont work first go. If it does work first go bonus and you are lucky. The FS & Clinics always say that on average it takes 3 fresh cycles and all associated transfers that go with it....I am still classed as being in my second cycle even though I have done two transfers and have 3 to go since I had 7 frozen embies......

I ovulated on Saturday which was an experience. I was in more pain that I have been before for my EPU's. It was seriously painful. All I could do was sit down and not do much. The nausea that went with it was pretty bad.

I think it was a good cycle though. I O'd on cd16. Didnt start getting highs till cd13 on my monitor and got my peak on cd16. My blood tests for my FET cycle were done on cd12, 14 & 16. on cd14 I had a e2 of 1571 and LH of 6.4. On cd16 she didnt test my e2 as it was already high enough just LH and that came back at 31 so obvious surge.

My temps have been up for both days so its obvious it happened. I always get worried until I see a temp rise that O might not happen.

So we tried naturally as well. We bd cd 10,13,15 & 16. Transfer is confirmed for Thursday. Not sure of any other details as wont know till tomorrow but its all set to go for a 5 day transfer of 2 embies.

I am not doing acupuncture this month as it hasnt helped and its been a big waste of a lot of money. Probably could have outright paid for a cycle with the amount I have spent on acupuncture.

So I guess we will see. We wont be doing a transfer next month if this doesnt work as the money is getting tight. We will do a transfer every second month which works out ok for us.

I did read (following a link on FF) that they have found that doing cycles with Femara for patients with Endo has shown greater chance of implantation of embryos due to being lacking in something within the uterus.....cant exactly remember what it was but they have shown that Femara helps in replacing what is lacking and that they have great success......well we just did our second month of Femara so lets see....Also if you read through FF you do find that people with PCOS who dont have success with clomid often have success with Femara so fingers crossed.

Hope everyone is having a good (well as good as it can be) Monday.

... but there is at least two others that could be in contention for that spot any time now. I really don't know how i'll cope with that, i've always come in second best with the family, someone always beats me too it.... and its not for lack of trying.

If life is full of lessons, and is always trying to teach us stuff... what is this supposed to be teaching us? what are we supposed to be learning from this? How am I going to be a better person at the end of this instead of a bitter and twisted one?

Know the feeling when it comes to DP's side of the family. I have a strong suspicion that we'll get an annoucement from BIL and SIL very soon, which will mean if we do finally get there our kid will definitely be down the grandkid priority list given they favour BIL big time as it is.

There are times that I feel I'm starting to be a worse person because of this (and I'm the first to admit that our journey hasn't been as long or as hard as what many of you have been through), but there have been some good things come out of it, like prompting me to take a yoga again, and if we do have a baby we will never that them for granted.

Scruff - it's me who wants a dog!! But we need to get a fence first...I rang a surveyor last week and it will cost $1700 to get the property surveyed BEFORE we even put in a fence. Normally that'd be okay but DH is changing jobs in June and will be without pay for about 2 months so we are having to be super careful so we can keep up mortgage payments and bills in that time. I'd rather try another FET with that money ..... so I guess I just have to wait. Seriously considering lizards/rats/birds though!!!.....actually I might even descend to digging out childhood bears. I just need something to hold close when I feel really down. Anyway. Nuff bout me. YAY for AF staying away so far....FX for you dear...this might be the one. Good luck for your BT tomorrow.

Glad I'm not the only one putting off stuff around the house to save $$$ for IVF!

Thanks Satay chicken original.gif I was getting a little overwhelmed with all the new girls coming in and getting a positive test only 2mths in. I am happy for them but so sad for myself at the same time. I think it was making me more negative about my own situation instead of making me want to try harder.
..::Sending everyone baby dust::..

Can relate to that Anna, I gave up on the TTC#1 group pretty quickly for that reason, plus I didn't want to get too preoccupied with the continual posting, this group looks like it will be a much better fit.

You just need to remember that IVF really comes down to luck on which cycle it will work. Its not a guaranted sure thing....I have come to to realise that all I am doing is helping what "might" happen and I cant guarantee it will. Also remember it depends on which embie the embryologist picks out......I had 8 and so far they have picked the 3 non baby ones.....I still have 5 to get through....

That's a great way to keep it in perspective, thanks for that Leebec. When the time comes we won't be able to afford too many rounds, but have to keep focussing on the fact that unlike many people we know IRL IVF might not work first go, (or 2nd or....)

thanks,
i was confused, i need the dye test next not a hysteroscopy, whats the dye test like? heard 1 horror story now reluctant to have it! but the girl i knew got pregnant after, they said it can be more therapeutic than diagnostic...

I have my dye test on Thurs. I think you would have already had yours wannabe_mum? If not I'll let you know how it goes.

I also emailed one of the top Immune specialists for a second opinion, he's happy to see me to go through the pro's and con's, I'm just not sure I want to complicate my situation anymore but I am interested to see what he says - going to sit on this one for a few days and see how I feel.

Hope you don't mind me asking Satay chicken, but how do they diagnose NK/ implanations issues? I have an overactive immune system which worries me that it might be part of our problem too, but my FS was very quick to dismiss NKs as a load of BS essentially.

Anyways got to run, time to get to work, will try and play more catchup later.

Have a great start to the week ladies.

Hi XF&T - I had heaps of tests done and everything was coming back really good so it was the last thing really that my FS could look at. Thing is that she did say she would check for NK cells but really was checking that my lining was sufficient so I'm not quite sure what she was doing. What kind of over active immune system issues do you have? Have you been tested for celiac and ANA's?
My NK cells came back right on boarderline so I cannot get treatment anyway but if you feel you want to be tested really push for it, if your current FS won't do it maybe find someone who will. I couldn't imagine how heartbreaking it would be to go through multiple IVF cycles only to find this was an issues - and it does happen.

Leebs - Hope you are doing it - looks like you went whole hog this month and wishing you all the very best for your tww...xx

Hope everyone else is well...

AFM - I'm in a bit of limbo at the moment, i'm just not sure I want to go through with the IVF, i'm 50/50 going it alone until there is not time left... i just don't know what to do. Seeing my normal GP tomorrow to get a referral to some councelling, I need someone to talk me through this decision.

Been on EB 3 years tomorrow and still not even pregnant - ballllahahhahahahhah

Satay - I have my first official appointment on Friday with the doctor to explain the whole thing to me and what cycle I will be having and I totally hear you. I am scared out of my wits end. I am scared for all manner of things.....it not working....the needles....the drugs.....the unknown.

satay - you mentioned ANAs? I got some blood test results over the phone today and she said I need to repeat as my ANA was below normal and low white blood cell count. I have to go google as I dont know what this is. My doctor said don't google but that's like a red rag to a bull, right??? original.gif

Also counselling sounds like a good option to get your head centred and clear about what you want/at what cost.

Hoping - was just saying that on Day 19 next cycle the IVF doctors switch off my repro system and take control.... scary... but someone has to be in control, god know I'm not!

X fingers - my FS poopooed the NK thing too. Wouldn't even entertain discussion. And we all feel like bad selfish people here sometimes when good things happen to everyone else and not us... that's what this group is for!

Mish - good luck for friday!

AFM - in 2WW, Oed early CD10/11, BDed 3 times in the window but no hopes up, no news really. Just getting on with life until next month when we have the nurses appt april 5 and get going with IVF.

OH my goodness! I had the most amazing FS appointment today, I went in today to get some answers, actually went in with a little attitude and my gosh we are starting the IVF process!
WOOHOO finally some action. I had no idea my FS could move to the next level, was pleasantly surprised.

So we have to get a few more blood tests, up to date ultrascans and another sperm sample. Another FS appointment in 2 weeks and then we do the nurses appointment. I'm SO excited. My hubby is so excited too.
