I'm not sure what you are fuming about.

You really wrote a letter to GJ about this?

I'd have just cleaned it off with a wipe and given it back to the baby. Then again I've seen kids that age put some fairly gross stuff in their mouth anyway.

Most places are not allowed to give you boiling water as it is dangerous to you and other customers. I dont think its an issue to worry about personally. Go to the nearest toilet and rinse it off.

I missed the OP, but just about this ^^ really? But what is black coffee if not boiling water with caffeine?

How would a bit of hot water sterilise a dummy?

Perhaps they should install autoclaves in every Gloria Jeans for the use of all of us who need something sterilised stat.

Yes, I asked for a cup of hot water to warm my baby's bottle one day and was knocked back. Apparently it is a policy for all Gloria Jeans stores. Seems kind of silly when you consider they gave me a free babycinno for my toddler which had a lot of very hot milk at the bottom which would have scalded him if I had given it to him without checking. But what can you do? Their shop, their rules. Don't go there again. It's crap coffee anyway!

I've never used a dummy but I caught DS3 (8 months) sucking on one of DH's thongs the other day. He was really going to town on it. I can guarantee that the place your dummy dropped was a hell of a lot cleaner then those flip flops. DS is fine. biggrin.gif

Did she need the dummy back right away?

Thongs were, to my frustration, DS1s favorite thing to suck on!

Haha, yes, news flash! A cup of cold water would do just as much....which is nothing.
