Low AMH and falling pregnant

Hi Ladies I've just learned that my AMH level is 3 - which is considered very low Obviously I'm now researching like mad but just wanted to see if anyone had any info on where to from here.... should I be seeing a FS asap? should I try naturally for say 6 mths or so before attempting any type of assistance or is this wasting time? BTW I am 37.5yrs old, one child conceived in my early 30's on first attempt. any advice appreciated!

Hi Dub... There is a group for LOR - http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/forums/ind...howtopic=951387 - so the ladies in there migt be able to provide more info. My AMH was 4.1 about 12 months ago, and my FS recommended going straight into IVF - this was after 2 M/C though. We didn't have issues getting pregnant either time....just staying that way... :-( We've since had 2 more M/C, and now awaiting PGD.....so we also have an issue with quality, not just quality... I'd suggest seeing a FS earlier rather than later....but that's just me.... All the best. Might see you in the LOR group.... :-)

I don't have any experience specifically with low AMH but I do with AC. My advice would be to act now rather than hold off. It can take between 6 - 8 weeks to even get to that initial appointment with a FS alone and this can then be followed by months of comprehensive testing before you even get to begin any treatment. In the meantime you can still be TTC naturally and if you have success you can cancel any appointments you have made if you don't need them anymore. One thing I definitely learnt about going through the process of assisted conception is that it can chew up a heck of a lot of time while you are waiting around for things to happen Best of luck OP. I got a 4.6 at 34 years old and I conceived naturally on my first cycle TTC. As long as you're ovulating regularly, I don't think a low AMH will make any difference. For me, it was a shock and got me moving on the issue, whereas otherwise I may have left it another couple of years. I agree with the PP though - if you're worried, start the ball rolling with an FS now, just in case. Good luck
