Hi,
We've just moved from Melbourne to Sydney and I'm looking for recommendations for preschool or family day care for my daughter. She is 18 months old now and a space not needed for a year or so, but I'm quite nervous as we had her down from birth at the preschool at home. Don't know what wait lists are like here! TIASue |

Short hours are ok, I'm thinking about studying my masters if I can get myself together, but I don't work.

Neither of the abovementioned mums work... Maybe it's a Turramurra thing!

Hi GabbaGabba (Sue): Welcome to Sydney! I remember being overwhelmed by the whole preschool scene when we moved here 5 years ago (and we moved on the turn of a dime, so no time to investigate schools!)
I would suggest taking a look at the KU preschools -- there are several along the North Shore line (and across the North Shore/NW Sydney area). KU Bradfield Park, which has a long day care & preschool program, isn't that far from South Turramurra (if you are south of Pacific Hwy). There are also conventional preschool programs at the other KUs in the area. http://www.ku.com.au/ku.bradfieldpark Good luck! |

Thanks everyone. I've looked at the websites, I'll call Fit kids and KUs in Wahroonga and Sth Turramurra on Monday and ask about wait lists.
Does anyone know anything about Wahroonga Public School? Its the local school and I'm in the process of enroling our son to start this term but I'm quite anxious about him starting school. What are the class sizes etc like? He is a sensitive soul and this is not the transition to school I had envisioned. |

GG:
There's a section on this board for FYOS (First Year of School) questions. You might want to post there or on the other thread related to "big kid" school. You are apt to get more replies from people with school aged kids there. |
