Sorry to jump in, but I'm very excited by this idea. Does the light have some kind of shade so it only shines down at the screen, not up into your eyes?

I love the cover with the light. I am amazed at how long the battery lasts with the light on, I get around 2-3 weeks out of it and I read every night. I have owned many book lights and this is by far the best because it last very long between recharges and it is of good quality.

The kindle is actually a bit harder to see in low light situations than a regular book. I was trying to read my kindle in a dimly lit room one day and couldnt see the words properly, but was able to read a regular book just fine. So you end up using the light more often than you realise. So glad it doesnt drain the battery very much.

I love the light on mine. Yep it only shines on the kindle and best of all it turns off when the kindle goes to sleep. I fall asleep reading a lot so this is great for me original.gif

I use a light with mine, but I just bought a knock off cover and a $2.00 clip on led light from the junk shop, it takes rechargable batteries. I wasn't going to spend whatever it was for a name brand cover for it.

My kindle cover has a broken hinge which means I can't use my light- ahhh!

When I searched for some info on the light covers, there were many posts which suggested to use some of those stick-on velcro spots on the back of the 2 outer corners of the actual kindle. It's a great idea as the kindle will be held securely within the cover, taking pressure off those flimsy hinges.

I wish I had read up on this earlier and I could have saved $60.

Hope this helps someone else!
