Hi me again ( so many posts in 2 days)
When my pregnancy bloods were done in week 4 the urine test showed up that I had a uti. The doc put me on a 5 day course of keflex. 3 days after I finished the keflex I had another urine test. He has called me back because of the results of that one and asked me to do another test. I'm not sure what is going on but has anyone else had a uti that didn't clear with first lot of antibiotics? I have never had a uti before this and don't have any symptoms. I'm worried it will cause me to miscarry. |

Yep, I often need multiple courses of antibiotics to clear up a UTI, and sometimes it is resistant to the first type the doctor prescribes and you need a different type. UTI in pregnancy is an issue only if it's untreated and goes to your kidneys - it has to be very bad before it does that. It sounds like your GP is on top of it, don't worry!!

They may need to send a urine sample to the lab to see what bug grows - then they can target specific antibiotics.

Yes - when I had my tested they told me the first sample was clear but the cultures are continuing to grow, so I would know the final results at a later time. I think that's normal.
