It is way too quiet in here. Hoping to get some more chatter going. I am on day 5 of a new cycle and almost through all my doses of the 150mg of clomid for this cycle. Really hoping to see what a follicle actually looks like this month . Started to panic this morning though as i am booked to have a cortisone injection into my shoulder tommorrow so i googled it to see what the side effects are and found many comments about it messing with the adrenal gland and screwing up menstrual cycles. I made a panicked call to my RE to find out if it was likely to waste this cycle but he said it was ok to go ahead. So fingers crossed all will be well. Who is still about and where are you at with TTC at the moment?

Raffi i hope you get some answers from the G.P. its so frustrating not knowing whats going on.
Kezball I am on my 3rd month of clomid now and so far the only side effect i have seen is the odd hot flush so you might get lucky. Mind you it hasnt made me ovulate yet either. But the FS did say that lots of people get no side effects.

Hi Everyone,
I never thought I would have to join this group, but I have now been TTC #2 for 12 months, after falling pg 2nd cycle with DD.
I am booked in for a hyteroscopy next Monday as have long cycles with mid cycle bleeding. My FS is then going to put me on clomid. My FS said he might artificially bring on my AF after the surgery so I don't have to wait another 60 days to start my clomid cycle. Has anyone had a hysteroscopy or artificial period and what was ur experience?
Looking forward to chatting with u all, but hope all our stay in this group is short lived!

Hi thinking about babies - our stories sound very similar - I fell pregnant on 2nd cycle with my DD too and now have been TTC #2 for over 3 yrs. Is the hyteroscopy where they do the dye test to see if your tubes are clear? If so I had this done a few months ago and all came back clear...it didn't hurt me at all just a bit uncomfortable and a bit of discharge for a little while later but nothing major. I have been on Clomid for 8 mths last year and no luck unfortunately. I have also had the drug to bring on AF artificially - I took Primolut as even on Clomid I was not having regular AF...it is just tablets that you take and usually within 10days your AF arrives as normal. I don't have to take it now though as my AF has decided to be more regular - well regular as between 30 and 40 days but still not sure if i am actually ovulating or not. I hope you have some success soon and welcome to our group we are very supportive of each other! Kezball - good luck for this month on clomid - seems to be a few on it for this month - let's hope it produces some good results!! I will update later once I have been to the doctors.

Conveived on Valentines Day
|
Hi Ladies, I am 37 years old and have been TTC #1 for 15 months, on day 5 of my cycle. I had a HSG (hysterosalpingogram) test in Feb which is where they insert dye into your fallopian tubes to see if they are blocked. This test is done while you are awake, so you dont need to go under. The procedure was not painful but it felt very uncomfortable when they insert the probe. Unfortunately after lots of probing, the Dr gave up as she was not able to get to to the right spot to insert the dye so I was not able to see if my tubes were blocked From my understanding the hysteroscopy is similar procedure however it is done with a laproscopy where you go under having an anaesthetic. I have taken my bloods, I have high cholestorol 6.8 which I am working on reducing. My AMH (ovarian reserve) is 7.4 and FSH is 5.9. I need to find out if this is normal or low for my age. My FS recommends that I have a hysteroscopy and laproscopy to get a good view of the state of my ovaries and tubes. However I feel a bit nervous about going under when they can check the state of my tubes through a HSG. Im thinking that surgery should be my last option, I would like to have another HSG done with a different dr, hoping that he/she can get to the spot to insert the dye, if that fails again then I have no choice but to do a laproscopy or seek IVF assistance. Has anyone else had a HSG, hoping to hear some views on HSG v Laproscopy. Is it worth skipping the HSG and just having a laproscopy, is there any reason why I would benefit more from a laproscopy?

Hello, HOpe everyone is doing well!!! Well a different view from me this cycle - I want AF to arrive!!!! For the first time in I don't know how long! I have a job interview in 2 weeks for a job that will do wonders for my work/family balance and one I really really want as it will help me further my career in the direction I want to head as well, so if it pans out I do get the job, it is a start with start of school year in 2012 and ttc will most def be put on hold...... possibly for good! I am just at that stage where I have realised there are other things in life and if all goes ok with interview then it will suit our little family so much and that is all I really want right now. More time with my gorgeous DD and to not have to be the wonderwoman I feel I have to be some days. So for now, its waiting for AF to arrive, due around friday this week and then avoiding the BD around the critical times Oh and I've had a hysteroscopy and its when they put you under anaesthetic and do use a scope to get a sample of your lining. Ihad a d and c done at the same time as well. I too had menstrual bleeding occuring mid cycle (well after O) and needed to get it checked. Goodluck with it, will check back in again soon xxx

Goodluck with it, will check back in again soon xxx Good luck with the job interview!! Of course you know what will happen now don't you - a BFP to throw a spanner in the works!!! Hope it all works out as you want though!! BulaFiji - welcome to the group...it's a shame the HSG didn't work I would go to another doctor as it seems a little strange they couldn't find the right place to insert the dye! I have only had a HSG done and don't know much about the laproscopy but totally understand the desire to avoid surgery if possible. My HSG came back all clear so my doctors aren't looking to do any further investigations in that regard at this point - I would start with another HSG and depending on the results of that go from there. Do you ovulate ok by yourself? Have the dr's mentioned clomid or anything for you? Hope you can get some answers soon but it is such a minefield to wade through! Well as for me...went to dr yesterday and he thinks we should wait a few more months before attempting IUI to see if I can lose some more weight (I have lost about 4kg so far) as it is hard for me to lose weight but am trying really really hard! He thinks there is nothing really wrong with me or DH and so really we should be getting pregnant - but we are not!! It is so frustrating!! So giving it another good go this month and hope for the best!!! Hope everyone else is going oK!
