Hi
Spin off from a previous thread re: Scooters.

We will be buying our Son a Micro Scooter ... just not sure if we should get the Mini or the Maxi.

DS will be 2yrs just before Christmas.

Could we get away with getting him the Maxi one???

Or should we just bite the bullet and buy the Mini ... then hopefully sell it and upgrade at his 4th birthday??

Cheers.

I would say get the mini, my 5yr old has a mini micro, but then he is only 97cm.

I think the maxi would be quite big for a two year old.

Definitely the mini.
I bought DS2 the mini for his 2nd birthday. DS1 got the maxi for his 5th birthday. The maxi is much heavier and would be harder for a 2 year old.

See my post on the other thread.

My 3 year old rides the maxi and also my 6 year old. Glad I didn't buy the mini it would have been too small too quickly.

I will add the 3 year old had trouble with the leaning to start with and then a few weeks later it just clicked because they had been used to riding 2 wheel scooters.

I would vote for the mini. My 4yo DD has one and my average sized 7yo DS can still comfortably ride it so you would get a few years out of it at least.

My 5 (112cm) & nearly 7 (117cm) yo still use the Mini Scooters so they will last awhile.

DS1 will be getting a Maxi for his 7th birthday so we can pass down the mini to 2yo DD.

Definitely a mini for a 2yo.

We bought DD a maxi for her 5th birthday and she was about 115cm tall at that stage. I bought a mini for DS for his 4th birthday but ended up exchanging it for a maxi as he is also fairly tall (110cm at 4.5) and he'd been riding his sister's maxi for 6 mths prior.

Most of the people I know who bought them for 2 year olds didn't upgrade to maxis until they were 5.

Awesome ~ thanks for the replies!

I saw on-line that you can also get the 'seat' for the micro scooters ... looks pretty cool. Although the scooters are pricey enough, so not sure if we'll fork out an extra $40 for the seat to go with it!
