Maybe look at where they could be picking them up from? Are the adults in the household being treated too? Family pets? Could they be bringing them home from daycare or school?
Apart from basic hygiene I'm not sure what else she can do? |

We had this problem recently! Is it definetly threadworm?
There are a few different types of worms/parasites they can get and some don't respond to conventional worming tablets like giardia....I couldn't see any threadworms when I checked. Some naturopaths are good at diagnosing different parasites as sometimes GP's testing is a bit more invasive or gross (e.g poo samples) and they've always been spot on for us and cleared it up with some nutritional advice and/or homeopathic remedies. |

She could add in damp dusting, daily vacuuming, disinfecting door handles and light switches, shower in the morning, wear leggings to bed under jammies to stop scratching. The biggest spread is the kids scratching their bottoms in their sleep, getting eggs under their nails and then onto everything and in their mouth. Perhaps also wash soft toys and wipe over hard ones. Seems OTT but worth it to get rid of the little buggers.

Does she bite her nails?
We use Herome Bye Bite which stays on like nail polish. It soon cured the habit and how often we had to worm. We found that the best worming stuff were the orange chewable tablets with Mebendzole. We worm everybody in the house for three weeks. We also added acidopholus (sp?) to her diet to get the good bacteria back into her system. Goodluck. |
