Hi, I am just wondering if anyone has ever regretted the name they chose for their baby? It might be a silly question to ask given that I imagine that most people LOVE their baby's name and we put so much time and effort into choosing that pefect name, its just that I think that naming a bub is such a huge thing, so I am just curious? (and I have this big 'name' decision to make again in the next couple of months!!)
If you did have regrets, what happened (ie: did you give bub a nickname, or did bub grow into his/her name) and do you still have any regrets? |

Hi
I don't regret my choice but I do know a friend who named her daughter Justine Caitlyn. From the minute she was named everyone kept calling her Justin (i.e. the boys version). It was crazy and the mother hated everyone mispronouncing the name. After a few weeks she changed the birth certificate over to Caitlyn Justine and now she calls her Caitlyn. |

I love my kids names!
But I will never 'love' their middle names... ETA: the mn, are family names. This post has been edited by gizboo: 16/08/2007, 08:27 PM |

I give my DP 100% naming rights - so Anzac came as a bit of a shock when he announced it, but grew on me over a couple of days. Now I love it!
Also, if I named my daughter she would've been a Zharli, and Zoe's not far off it. I reckon he'll name the next one Quentin if it's a boy - but whatever he decides/wants, I know I will like. Lisa |

3 kids = 6 names (first and middle) and I hate 5 of them. Mainly because DH railroaded me into them. Not a lot to be done about it though. I take pleasure in the fact that when they are older and complaining about how much they hate their names I can turn around and say speak to your father he was the one that wanted it so much.

I am only pg with my first so can't answer personally...
But a very close friend had a second daughter and named her Audrey Paige. I thought this quite an old-fashioned name considering her first daughter was named Camryn. Three months later she changed the name of the child from Audrey to Jordyn. She has no regrets now, and feels that it 'fits' her daughter far better... Hope this helps! ~* Tracey *~ |
