I've worked pretty much all my life, i had my second baby 12 months ago and in november started job hunting as i was not only financially ready but mentally ready to return to work.

I've never, never had a problem getting a job but somehow i've applied for what feels like 100 positions and i barely get a response from a quarter of these, and i've had 4 interviews and turned down for two. The other two i'm still waiting to hear back from, job one is in my boring, stale job industry where i have been for ten years, job 2 is a bit more exciting, different area but still has a main focus on my original area of employment but with opportunies to extend on skills and knowledge. Job 1 is permenent, but job 2 is a maternity contract position.

Although i know job 2 is not as stable as job 1 i can't help but really really want it, i feel like i will gain so much from it even if i don't get a permenent position out of it, the skills will look good on my future resume. I feel the interview went well, i felt in my element but having been rejected before i can't help but protect myself from thinking positively. I wish i knew the type of people i was up against or how many people were interviewed or what they even thought of me! I know they said they had two positions on offer.

The waiting game only started yesterday and they told me they would let me know by the middle of next week. I'm really anxious and can't stop thinking about it.

If anybody has some insight or feelings on this situation could you please share with me. I do like to think that everything happens for a reason, but this job feels like it should be mine even though i should be concerned about future finances as it's only a contract, i really should want a permenent position but it just feels so right.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Seems as though my gut feeling was right, this job opportunity was for me, i received an offer yesterday and accepted. It's interesting that i felt this way as i know even positive interviews does not mean you will get the job, the other job still have not contacted me back and i'm glad because i just know i was going to be unhappy there and my heart wasn't in it.

I feel like i'm going to gain a lot from this, even if it is only a contract position.
