Sharkies: I said the same thing about Emma-Louise & Seal in the last thread. I am placing my money on "Seal wants to seduce this young woman." I just get major creepy vibes from him when he is interacting with her.

To her great credit, she did a fantastic job last night -- "looked the part," sang with confidence. Casey just didn't seem to have the same pizazz and wow factor as she did in the auditions.

I'm really disappointed Casey didn't get through, she was my favorite right from the start, I sort of expected it though, I think Seal has had a thing for Emma Louise from the minute he turned around, the way he looks at her is kind of creepy actually.

LOL, this is exactly what i was thinking, i am finding Seal more and more slimey.

I heard after Casey wasnt chosen, Joel say that he would love to record with Casey, I sure hope he does, she has a lovely voice, much better than Emma.

Gold!! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the support ppl. Glenn is gutted but definitely has nothing to be ashamed of. He sang his heart out and all the family are so proud of him.

It's hard when they all get on so well but someone has to go. All credit to Jimmy- really nice guy and he has an awesome rock voice but I still think Glenn deserved to stay.

As for all of the judge sledging- after spending hours watching them interact with the audience and contestants and seeing them perform live I have a great deal of respect for them all, a very talented bunch regardless of what ppl think of their appeances and choices.

edited to repost here... I got the thread closed again unsure.gif

Are you Glenn's wife?  Glenn definitely sang his heart out i wish both Glenn and Jimmy went through to the live rounds!!

It's not finished in Perth yet but had to come on to say although Kieran freaks me out a little he was MUCH better than Sam!

I said these exact things to DH last night.  Kieran has a much better voice than Sam, but before they started singing I told DH they will pick Sam because of the image thing, who is more marketable.  Exactly the same with Casey and Emma.

Glenn seemed so much nicer than Jimmy- I find it hard to believe he is nice, way too confident for me. He has a lovely voice.

Everyone is is entitled to their own opinions original.gif
However, I have known Jimmy for well over 10 years and he truly is a nice guy.  He comes accross as confident, perhaps, but he is really so down to earth and humble ... and i really think no matter what happens from here on in The Voice, he will never change.  There was an exit interview after Jimmy won his battle round, and if you watch that i am sure you will see the real Jimmy shine through original.gif

That's the weakness of The Voice -- the auditions are based on "The Voice," but the rest of the show is based on "The Whole Package" (including marketability).

Even though Casey didn't get through I think she's on a winner if Joel'wants to go in the studio with her.

I agreed with most choices, some were disappointing but looking forward to the live rounds.

There's a story just hit the media (assuming it's real) that has the show's host saying that Peta (long red hair, lost to Viktoria) was rude to everyone on the show, would not take direction from anyone and that her attitude "stinks".
Now why would you mess up a big chance like that with diva antics?

#35 mokeydoke

Theirs was one battle I missed so I just watched it online. I wouldn't be surprised, even her family looked full of attitude and not at all graceful in defeat.
However...after watching it, I do believe she is the better vocalist. She could be something special, even with attitude! She just needs to find the right songs and avenues. Plenty of people with huge egos succeed, just not on a show where they are supposed to be mentored to that success.

Re Casey and Emma, I like Casey but thought Emma's performance last night was better.

I thought that "At Last" suited Emma's voice right down to the ground, but not at all for Casey's voice.

Emma has just the right smokey tone for the song, Casey's voice is like a bell - crystal clear and sweet.

I prefer Casey's voice but unfortunately, just not suited to that song.

I agree.  I loved Casey in her audition.  The song she chose there suited her perfectly, but I think At Last was not a good choice for her.

I wonder if it's deliberate song choice to eliminate the 'inconvenient' ones for the show. After the duo went, I said to DH 'There goes the inconventient duo', and when Casey went I  said 'There goes the inconvenient fat girl' unsure.gif

I think I saw something on Today Tonight where the Peta was claiming she didn't get any one on one time with Delta and claiming that the other girl was the favourite right from the outset.

Yes the host was responding to the Today Tonight story that the girl Peta did. I think she is just trying to extend her few minutes of fame.

A girlfriend and I were saying the exact same thing the other day.  I thought he was hot and sexy but now I just think it's slimey.

I think he made the right choice with Emma-Louise though - she was FAR better than the other chick.

Am Shattered about Casey. But I agree, that song wasn't suited to her voice, and I think she knew it. I thought she looked like she felt defeated from the outset, just knew this wasn't going to work for her.  Am sad, because she was my favourite all up.

Am not sure about the Lakyn fuss. Can't see how he's emerged (at least, so I've heard) as the favourite?

Agree.

You could see times in the blind auditions when a good looking girl did not get picked the judges threw up their arms when they turned their chairs around.

Similarly I felt Seal tried to back pedal when he turned around and saw keiran in his trackies - the only time he was not trying to score the contestant from Delta.

Yes, the phrase "who can win this for me" has become a euphemism for "who's got a good voice and a good look". Is Susan Boyle forgotten already?

Has anyone else downloaded any of the tracks?  I just got the Darren Perceval version of Shower the People - love it, his voice is so beautiful!  My husband heard me playing it and then went to get the James Taylor version, but realised he now likes Darren's version better!  (he still downloaded a few other James Taylor tracks though, so still a win for him anyway).

Anyone watching tonight?

Not thrilled with the guy doing the white noise song.

#46 PixieVee

No, I don't like that song regardless but I wasn't feeling it from him (Matt?).

#47 Chelli

I was a bit meh about Fatai tonight. I hate that song, and thought it sounded ridiculous coming from an Australian. Karise was great though and one of my favourites.

#48 PixieVee

Posted 14 May 2012 - 08:18 PM

Karise has a beautiful voice. I can't stand that insipid song though... actually I haven't like the song choices at all tonight.

Ben hasn't started well.

I'm not a very musical person, but it is there something wrong with the mixing or something? They all just sound so flat.

Oh no that is such the wrong song for Ben Bennett to sing. I usually love him. And what's with all the pink?
