I posted a while ago tossing up whether to call our boy James, the same name as my 22 year old nephew.
In the end we decided to give him his own name and we have named him Robert James. We just love it. I recall from the threads there were so many varied opinions on Robert - old fashioned, boring etc but we're so happy with his name. It's not over used, everyone knows how to spell it, there are incredible family connections to the name we never knew existed until his birth too.
We're calling him Robbie, or Bobby, both are great.
Thanks for your input and opinions!

My husband is a Robert and was Robbie when little. I think it's gorgeous.

Great name, I have a Robert as well. You just can't go wrong with a name like that. Congrats!

Robert is fabulous. It would be on my list if we didn't have three in the family.
