Oh no....

Bob resigns..
I can't get this to load? Hopefully someone else can..

One of the most ethical, hardest working politicians this country has ever had... and one who was forced into politics not chose it..

I hope he enjoys his retirement.

#8 BetteBoop

The harridan Christine Milne is leader. That woman has the personality of a garden rake.

LOL!  - you mean an echidna, hedgehogs arent native biggrin.gif

But seriously I admired him for standing up for his (sometimes out there) beliefs and he will be sadly missed in politics.

She is actually a lovely woman, she just has the misfortune of having a most unappealing voice.
Unfortunately that means quite a lot in our soundbite world.

So sad. I have always enjoyed his hard work and passion- especially on environmental and human rights issues.

cry1.gif Such a sad loss for the political landscape in Australia.  A man of great integrity, intelligence and humour. Not to mention a fab photographer.  As he is the BB in my id - that I love - I am a very sad.

I'm talking about her Q&A appearances where she's consistently sneering and smarmy.

I am really shocked and upset about this. Having met Bob several times I can assure anyone he is genuinely a great bloke.

He has gone lip service to human rights issues such as Tibet. He has on many occasions been very bold in his support of their human rights issues and our  campaigns.

wow, that's out of the blue. hopefully the Greens can continue to be a strong force in parliament even without his leadership

Awful news. We need more politicians like Bob Brown!

#21 Mrs Dinosaurus

devestated.

where will we move to now?

#22 Ridcully

A huge loss to the Australian political scene. I hope the Greens don't go the way of the Democrats.

Madam Catty, you are a woman of many contradictions I would have never picked you as a Greens supporter.

#23 Honeymummy

Posted 13 April 2012 - 12:52 PM

Oh yay finally - now to just get rid of the rest of them!

#24 kadoodle

So, an epiphany whilst in Africa or a health crisis?

There has to be a major reason for him to leave now rather than just not contest the next election.

I don't know much about Christine Milne, but she's sure got big shoes to fill.

Just going to move this to the News and Politics forum but will leave a link in the Misc forum to it.
