I'm curious to see how this show goes... Channel 9 is betting heavily on its success.

If it's only based on their voice, then it should be a better competition than X-Factor and Australian Idol considering they pick people based on the "marketability" of their whole persona.

Can't wait to see who the singer is who gets all the judges turning around at once as shown on one of the ads.

I foretell a train wreck of a show coming.

Might be wrong.

I can't wait to see the girl who sings the song they are using in all the ads.

Her voice (and the song) are beautiful.

I'm hanging out to watch it too. I know there is a blind girl that auditions I want to see how she goes.
I also want to see the girl that sings in the commercials

My dp hates all reality shows, so I will be banished to the spare room to watch it.

I think it's a dodgy concept.  The voice thing only holds for the first round.  After that it's the same old mentoring and popularity contest.  That said I'm a sucker for talent shows so I'll look at the first ep to see if there's anyone that interests me.

I got hooked on the American version so I am hoping the Australian version is not disappointing in comparison.

Can you say who your friends husband is Jane so we can keep an eye out or is it top secret.

If any channel can stuff up a successful show it will be channel 9.

One hint of it not having mind blowing rating then they will shove it of to the dead zone and put on reruns of the big bang theory and two and a half  men lol.

Strangely the only thing putting me of ths show is delta.

Her oh so sweet shiny white smile annoys me.

I loved the US version - they really did uncover some talent.
But in all honesty part of the appeal was the judges (apart from Christina Aguilera, who was tres annoying).  So I'm really curious how the Aussie judges will fare.  I've got a huge soft spot for Keith Urban, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of him.

Channel 9 really does have a tendency to over hype shows before they start (esp. reality TV)- and they've really being advertising the heck out of this for months.  So I fear it may back fire, and people switch off after the first few eps.

I wasn't thinking of watching it but ran into a friend of DH's the other day who is a crew member on the show.  Three off the judges are well liked but the 4th is hated by everyone who works on the show and constantly keeps production waiting for an hour or more for no reason.  So now I am kinda  keen to watch even though I know that they won't show this on air and everything will look fine.  Also 2 of the judges don't get on and butt heads a lot much to the crew's amusment

#22 YellowKittyGlenn

Posted 15 April 2012 - 12:54 AM

Is it Seal that no one likes? and Keith and Joel butt heads yeah?

#23 kissy10

Posted 15 April 2012 - 01:32 AM

After watching the US version from the beginning, I can't bear to watch the AU version. It seems all kinds of wrong. Since when is Joel Madden & Seal Australian anyway??

#24 YellowKittyGlenn

Posted 15 April 2012 - 01:46 AM

Kissy for all our talent shows there has always been at least 1 judge that is not Australian. I think they have to bring ppl in from overseas we dont have a great pool of people to choose from here really.
