Raffi, I have to ask ... Any news yet? I know you're not due until tmw but I couldn't help myself & tested a day early so thought perhaps you might too? I'm thinking of you all the time & so hoping for positive news!!
Izy, how are you feeling?

Posted 12 April 2012 - 06:32 PM

No, I haven't bought myself to test yet....don't tempt me!! LOL!! I have been playing around with the idea but am not sure if I want to find out that way or just wait for the phone call tomorrow afternoon and be hopeful a bit longer?! I do have a test sitting in my cupboard though...although I am getting to to pee so much during the night that I am not sure if my 'first' one in the morning would be very accurate anyway!

I am trying so hard to concentrate on a uni assignment due tomorrow (for which I already have an extension) but it is just soooo hard. I keep having my mind wander off to tomorrow and preparing myself for news either way.

I just want a positive so badly!

Raffi....omg, peeing a lot is a positive sign!! I'm so anxiously waiting & praying it's great news tmw! Good luck!! wink.gif

Raffi - your a stronger person than I. It wouldn't matter if its FMU now as the clinic are going to be looking for a level of over 50+, and most HPT pick up at 25, so if your pregnant you would def be over that 25 and most likely the 50. FMU is for when testing under 14DPO, once you hit 14DPO its anytime of the day testing, and your 15DPO. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Izy - How many DPO would you be? Thinking about 10DPO? How strong was the BFP.gif and what was the level of your tigger shot? All I can say is keep testing each morning now and if it gets stronger then I guess its a BFP.gif and if it gets lighter than its the trigger shot. Once you hit 14DPO then I would take it as a def. BFP.gif as it needs to be over 50 for the clinic to be happy meaning it would easily be over 25 at 14DPO making it a BFP.gif Hope it stays for you.

Dh had a sad day - some lady at work had a go at him when taking about controlling kids and costs of kids and she came out with 'What would you know? You only planned a small family.' Dh had his come back of 'Actually, we suffer secondary IF, have suffered 3 M/C which hurts us all the time when looking at our 5 bedroom house and 7 seater car we brought for the 4 kids we had planned for. So yes we did plan a larger family and its not our fault we can't know how it feels, so please don't rub that in to me.'

Dh said she then spent the next hour saying sorry, but it still hurt being reminded what we can't have. Most people he works with knew we have had troubles but didn't know how bad until today, so now DH feels like everyone pities him, but he also said it kinda felt good admitting to people our problem and not just hiding like most people suffering IF do.

Feeling a little better at the moment with this month being the EDD month as I ovulated on Tuesday, so I guess it gives me hope, of course if its another BFN.gif then I'm looking at having AF for my due date which will really suck.

Shelby that is just awful for your DH but good on him for saying something. I really hope you get a surprise BFP this month and it helps to ease your pain of upcoming dates. You and your family truly deserve something good to happen.

You are right about the DPO but I figure I have waited this long I may as well wait for the blood test! Although I might be tempted in the morning - should I or shouldn't I!? I think I am just trying to bury my head in the sand for as long as possible!

Izy Bee - ooooo sounds so promising hun!! I so hope this is it for you and that I join you tomorrow! Are you going to do another test tomorrow to compare?

Thanks number4please and Dark Passenger and HaleyW!!

Oh Raffi I can hardly stand the suspense! And you too Izybee, I probably would've done the same thing. I did clomid last cycle with a trigger shot on day 11 and I got a BFN but I can't remember which day I tested, probably would've been about 12dpo, so hopefully the shot is outta your system and it's the real deal!
Shelby - I bet your DH felt better after getting that out. What a sh*tty thing to have to explain though. I just tell everyone otherwise I can't stand the questions and comments about number 2.

Well I have some (sort of) exciting news, I got a call from HFC and they had a cancellation so I have an appt on Monday, 6 weeks earlier than my original appt! I sacked the first clinic so going to HFC now and I can't wait! I might be able to start IVF sooner than I thought or he might have some other suggestions. I've been cleaning out my "nursery", strip washing my nappies to pack away and giving my cot and change table to my BFF who is expecting. It feels great that it's going to be a guest room/study now, not a nursery waiting for a baby that never comes. DD is in bunks with DSD now.

Ok Raffi I'm checking in every hour tomorrow for the results!

Thanks ladies!! I am just so nervous that I am sitting here almost shaking...I was VERY tempted this morning to POAS but decided in the end to wait - I have waited this long so may as well wait a few more hours. Plus I want to do some grocery shopping after my blood test and I know I won't feel like doing it if it was a BFN. I will probably also be at my parents this afternoon picking up DD who has been staying there last night so if it is bad news I will have some support.

I honestly think it will be a BFN this time...really do not expect it to have worked first go. So I am preparing myself for this. I am in Perth so am just about to head off soon to get to 8am opening of blood test place. I will update in here as soon as I can this afternoon!

Bellefin - that is just awesome news!! How lucky is that!! I might see you around the halls of HFC!! I think you will really like it there - so far I am very impressed.

Ok ladies...talk to you later for sure.

Raffi. I'm on tender hooks waiting 4 your news! I can't imagine how u must be feeling!!

Shelby..just wanted to say sorry your DH had to hear those insensitive comments! It's tough with 2nd IF because people just don't think! I pray that this is your month, you deserve some good news so much. xo

I'm completely obsessed with checking in here for news of Raffi! I know EBs not the first place she'll share news but I'm starting to feel nervous for her!
If it isn't the news u hoped for Raffi please keep the faith, sometimes its the second try that brings the blessing. I know this will be so difficult because it will be the works again, but you'll get your baby. hugs xxx

Raffi - Just got home and ran to check to see what your BT was. I guess though your in WA which is a few hours behind the east coast - I'll check back later so I can add you to the pregnancy list cause I know that is where you will be going  wink.gif

Raffi, I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry. I know u must be devastated but try to look to the next step & know you'll get your bub. Thinking of u. sad.gif

Oh sorry Raffi bbighug.gif it would have been pretty unreal to have worked on the first go. I hope you have lots of support around you. Have a couple of pity days then you can look forward to the next cycle.

#22 Izy Bee

Posted 13 April 2012 - 07:36 PM

boo!!! raffii that sucks!!!!! so sorry....hugs and more hugs....i hope that you get that BFP ,and soon

AFM : i think that im the reason they say do not test early...i did another test today ( first response this time) it was a really feint line....so im thinking is was the trigger shot yesterday...maybe it was lingering.....well this is the cautionary tale for you impatient ones like me...there is a reason for waiting!!! so the roller coaster isnt quite so rough!!!

Raffi, again this is breaking my heart,

#23 HaleyW

Posted 13 April 2012 - 07:50 PM

Izy, sorry to hear this news, was so hopeful when you posted BFP...but don't count yourself out just yet. Fx

#24 Stronger

Posted 13 April 2012 - 07:53 PM

Thanks ladies...I'm feeling pretty awful at the moment and DH cried on the phone when I called to tell him...he really had his hopes up. I can't wait for him to be home from work, he should be soon but then we are meant to be going out to a friend's house tonight for of all things a pleasure party - you know those sex party plan things! Lol!

I just keep telling myself it was unlikely to work first time but when you have 2 grade 1 embryos put in the right spot and everything you can't help but wonder why didn't it work??? What hope does that really leave us? I just keep seeing our 2 little dots on the screen who now don't exist. sad.gif

Worst part is that we have to wait a cycle to start again...I have to call clinic on CD1 to book in again for the CD21 blood test and so we will begin again. More waiting.

I am clinging to what the doctor said in that it probably won't work the first time but it should within 3 cycles...did she really mean that or are they just average figures they quote?

I am just so scared it will never work - we can only afford probably 5 or 6 cycles at most and it just makes me feel sick that IVF is IT if it doesn't work then we will never have another baby.

Sorry for rambling...so much going through my head right now.

The support of this group just means so,so much to me. I didn't get the call from the clinic until late this arvo and came to tell you ladies as soon as I could!

Thanks again xxx

Izy Bee - oh I hope it stays a BFP for you....might be best to wait for blood test now so you don't torture yourself anymore...it is pure hell isn't it?!

I am so sorry it did not work on your first try. Please remember your allowed to be sad, angry, disappointed and upset about it - so don't hold it in, if you need to have a good cry in the shower (which is what I did with loss #3) then do it and allow yourself to feel whatever you want to feel - don't feel you need to be strong for everyone unless you want to for yourself.

Just saw your post (hadn't refreshed since I went for my shower).

QUOTE

They are average figures - 90% of women will have a BFP.gif in 3 cycles - but that is average, meaning some will get it first go and others will get it 6th go. The 10% who don't are normally women over 40 added in there, you have a very high chance not to be the 10% - so please don't think you will be the only 1 out of 10 it doesn't work for.

I know its hard to not start again right away but I think it can be a good thing to let your body have a natural cycle before medicating it again - think of it as one cycle closer to your BFP.gif.
