Gold! First ever. Before I read I will write as my iPad wouldn't load up this site for days! Other sites yes but not this one. Weird.
Should be 9w today but scan has me at 8w5d. HB is 187 and bubba moved on the scan today. Grown from 1.56 to 2.2 cm in a week. Best news is that if my NT scan results all good then I am not recommended to have the amnio. Fingers crossed. Night sickness worse. Afternoons killing me. Dinner no go unless it's hot chips ....

Hi ladies,

Sorry for being absent for the past week. Am trying to catch up but feel like I have missed out on so much!

Am continuing to feel pretty yucky which is why I haven't been online much and we had my Mum stay with us over Easter. I had my scan last Tuesday which showed that I am not as far along as I first thought. I am now due on November 22. We saw the little bubba and they had a hb of 117bpm. Was really reassuring to see the bub there.

Hopefully I will be more motivated to be online this week. Hope everyone and there bubs are doing well.

*stormgirl77* Pimples ... me too.  I've got them with DS1 and DS2 as well.  The good news is that mine have started to clear up now but I think I had more in the space of 2 weeks than I had throughout my entire teenage years LOL.  Ok, maybe an exaggeration but when you're feeling kinda icky anyway, pimples certainly dont help !!!!

AFM  I'm online now looking up hospital choices and researching doctors.  I am 9wks tomorrow so I've set myself a task to find a doctor, book for my NT scan and book into a hospital by the end of the week.  I think I can do that.

I'm also looking to see if I can send my 3yo to kindy/daycare somewhere too ... I think that's going to be much harder - I dont have the first clue as to what centres are classed as 'great' and which ones are dodgy.  My research continues ...

Storm girl - yep, plenty of pimples here. I'm ten weeks tomorrow and they are just starting to ease off. Not much I could do to reduce them since they were hormonal.

Christmas is coming - hope you find the hospital and doctor you will love. My doctor was recommended by a friend and countless members on EB and I seriously love him. It's the most positive experience I've ever had with a healthcare professional.

Lcm86- quite a few of us have off dates. Mine have also changed a few times now. Congrats on the heartbeat!!

Franno- that's a great heart rate! Nothing can calm nerves but seeing that baby on the screen well and truely healthy. My MS is at it worst at night also which makes taking any pills at night next to impossible usually leading to gagging and vomiting.  Yuck!

AFM- I'm off to Thailand tomorrow for a nice break. Will be totally over the top with what I eat and do to save myself worrying until my next scan.

The next scan is my NT scan at 12w2d which is about 2 weeks away. Dh is taking time off work after missing out on all our scans with heartbeats so I  Can't wait!

Then I guess it will be announcement time. I think then it will be more real.

franno - glad to hear the scan went well. I'm yet to have my first scan.

LCM - I'm feeling pretty icky here too. Just feeling nauseous, no vomiting. But gosh I wish I didn't.

Stormgirl - I am feeling the same, no scans, only 1 doctors appointment, and she just wrote me some referrals, so it still doesn't feel real yet.

Christmas - Good luck choosing hospitals and daycare. Living in a small town, we don't have many options. It took a while for my little man to settle, but now he has great fun at daycare.

Spring Chickadee - Enjoy your trip to Thailand. At least it will help pass the time quickly original.gif

AFM - The whole pregnancy is seeming very unreal, other than all day nausea, I haven't had any other symptoms. I finally remembered to book in for my 'dating' scan, so I have that on Monday. Now that it is booked I am starting to feel nervous. It will be great to see little Valentine on the screen.

I've been keeping pretty busy with housework and looking after my son, and it is making the days go quicker. I'm hoping to get a heap of work done while he is at daycare tomorrow since I am on school holidays.

Hi Everyone,

Just letting you know I'm joining your group from afar. Nice to imagine the Aussie voices from over here in Turkey. Mine is due November 20 and I've known for a week. My morning sickness was bad until Elevit vitamin - it's still queasy at night time so I sleep early. I've always had a sensitive nose and now it's full on - wish the neighbour didn't cook onions everyday. (As I type, hubby is cooking onions!)

So it's nice to read your messages and know what's expected.

Take care,
Turquoise

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I have not posted for a while. Have been pretty busy at work and I also have a cold at the moment which just does not want to go away.

Turquoise1- Welcome, I hope your pregnancy goes quickly and smoothly.

Stormgirl/EDZ - I know what you mean, I have a few symptoms but still don't feel pregnant.

Spring Chickadee - Enjoy your holiday!! Hopefully your 12 week scan will come around before you know it.

franno/LCM86 - Glad the scans went well.

Sorry to anyone else I missed from the last thread.

AFM - I have a scan today at 1:15 to check that everything is ok after I had the bleeding almost 2 weeks ago. I am currently 8w3d so hopefully we get some good pictures. I am really nervous that there might not be a heartbeat there but keep trying to remind myself that it is out of my control and hopefully everything is fine. I will let you all know how it goes when I get back.

Hope everyone has a nice day with not too much MS.

Hi everyone,

Stormgirl - when if your first scan? 12weeks? Oh man .... To have to wait so long. At least the pimples are a sign original.gif

SC - have an awesome time in Thailand - good idea about being OTT on your food etc. I was fine in Krabi but when we went to Bali this year I was also anal about food and drink and ended up with the runs for 6 days when I got back (my friend also) :-(  so great that it's scan time when you return!!

Edz - I am with you on the nausea. I get quite down when it starts coming upon me as I know how bad I am going to feel for the next few hours BUT without it I would be on edge about if everything was OK.

Turquoise - welcome. I am from afar also in Singapore. Ditto on the onions cooking and garlic cooking as well - kills me!

Monkey - good luck with the scan I'll be watching in later for the good news!!

TJ - I have started to wonder if it's a boy with the greasy cravings. I didn't get them with DD therefore I thought it was pretty disgusting when other pregnant woman fed their bumps fast food. Fast forward 4 years and it's me!! However I am much heavier this time so shouldn't be eating this kind of food. Am limiting it though (meaning not giving in to every craving and trying an alternative first). Last night I managed a proper dinner (week it's actually junk for us but not fast food) sausages, mash, mixed vege. Ate the lot whereas been struggling to take a mouthful of dinner. Hubby cooked instead of my helper. Mornings are spent eating fruit, cereal etc as after lunch is when I can't stomach any of it.

AFM: I see the OB again Monday and all going well I then don't come back for 2 weeks (I'll be 12weeks) but the best news ever is that my mum decided yday and is booking flights today to come from NZ to Singapore for a week arriving in 2 weeks! So excited. Going her halves in the tickets as I really want her to come and as DH is going to be at his Dads wedding in Brisbane I took wed, thurs, fri, mon, tues off work so can hang out with mum and DD.

Hi Girls, I too have been MIA for a while.  Have been thinking of you all and hoping everyone is well.

I am now 9 weeks 3 days.  I had a bit of a scare last week with a tiny bleed.  The doctor thinks it was probably from DTD lol.  Anyway had a scan and saw our little pip moving around and her heartbeating strongly.  I cried like a baby lol.  Notice I wrote "her"?  My 4 year old DD was with me at the scan and she told the ultrasound lady if it's a boy we are NOT keeping it!  I was so embarrassed lol.

To be honest I would prefer a girl myself.  Of course I will be thrilled either way. Does anyone else have a preference?

This pregnancy is my third and soooooo different to my other two.  I feel nauseated all day every day and am constantly hungry and thinking about food.  With my other two I never even felt slightly queasy.  I wonder what it means.

Stormgirl:  OMG I know what you mean about pimples!  My face is covered at the moment it's so embarrassing.

Franno: How exciting that your mum is coming to visit!

Hi to everyone else :-)

Hi Everyone

Finally booked my NT scan. As we are overseas I cant get it done till 13 weeks and 2 days. They told me it will only be ok up till 13.5 weeks so hoping its all ok.

Catty 81- I have a DD too (16 months) and I'd love another girl. I really want her to have a sister as I never did and I grew up as the only girl, 3 brothers. But as you say, once they arrive it wont really matter.

Still sick as a dog, vomiting all day. Sleeping plenty too - when DD lets me sad.gif

Bring on the 12 week mark (mind you I was sick till 18 weeks for DD - lets hope that is not happening again!).

Hi everyone

back from my scan second time around and found a bubs with heart beating at 176 bpm.  Also finally I have a date - I am now due 19th of November.  I was pretty close with guessing 22nd.

I also had my blood tests done today.  Has anyone had to do through the GTT (gluclose tollerance test) all ready?  Aparently it is new protocol and you have to have it at the beginning of pregnancy as well as around 20-26 weeks.

I am also quite surprised that I have an appointment with the hospital on monday.  Last time around I swear that I had my first appointment at around 16 weeks or so.

Nausia is not beeing fun at all.  The zofran is very much hit and miss, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.  And I threw up for the first time this pregnancy.  I have everything crossed that we all get over it soon.  hands.gif

Still haven't told my family.

Hi Ladies!

Actually feeling really good at the moment. Probably because I got to see my bubba today with my last appointment with my FS. The bubba had arms and legs flying around, it looked very cute. It was a little sad to be saying goodbye to my FS, but I'll be keeping him in the loop over the next 7 months or so.

Catty81 - I would prefer a girl too, but I have a feeling this one is a boy. I'm going to find out at the 20 week scan, so I'll guess I'll wait and see.

Anon654321 - I'm actually having a GTT on Saturday at 7am!! (I guess the early start will get me into practice.) I didn't know they were the new protocol. I thought my OB was getting me to have one because I've been close to being diagnosed with diabetes previously. I don't feel like a "problem case" now!

Have a great hump day everyone!!

Hi All,

Just got back from my scan and it was all good news. Heart beat of 171 bpm and I was measuring a little behind what I thought so now puts me with a Due Date a week later on 25th Nov.

Anon654321 - I have not done the GTT yet. I had gestational diabetes last time around with DD and my doctor has already said I will most likely have it again as they have lowered the levels since last time so I am already on a diet.

I really don't mind what we have this time around..maybe a DS so I have one of each but as long as the baby is healthy it does not matter. We found out with DD but we have decided to leave this one a suprise.

Hi to everyone else. Better get back to work.

Are all of you who have had scans already requesting them? I was told I won't be having one for a while yet. I have my first antenatal appointment next week so I will get more info there I guess.
I am so scared to say this but my nausea appears to be easing. Because of this I already think (hope... lol) I am having a girl. My last pregnancy was twin boys and I was very sick and vomited everyday until 4 months. This time I have felt really nauseous and exhausted all day everyday since 6 weeks but haven't vomited at all, and *think* it is easing -I am 8 weeks now.

Hope others are starting to feel better also!  smile1.gif

Hi everyone,

I really do love reading everybody's experience. My DH and I havent told anyone, we are waiting to tell our parents together as this is our first and DH's parents first grandchild. We are 9 weeks today and I have a second scan next wednesday. I have been very lucky with my symptoms - bloody tired!, tender boobs, and getting up in the middle of the night to wee, but that is about it. My mum didnt have any MS with me or my 3 brothers so thanks Mum!

Monkey - I hope the scan went well today.

Franno - You must be so excited to have your mum to stay! I think I have seen more of my mum in the past 2 months than in the 6 months prior! Even though she is 4 hours away. She doesnt know, but for me its comforting to have her around.

Catty - You have a very funny little one! I would be over the moon for a healthy baby, but DH thinks ours is a boy (no grounds for that, but I think he is wishing it is!!!!).

Jenmad - So sorry to hear you are unwell. The tiredness is killing me without the MS, so hats of to you for handling them both! Plus another little one! I hope the MS eases soon.

Anon - How do they do a GTT? I had my bloods done 2 weeks ago on my first visit to the doc.

Shoop - I didnt request a scan on my first visit, I think the doc wanted to check to make sure I was definitely up the duff. He has an ultrasound in his office so it was easy. He did say we would do another next app (I will be 10 weeks) so we will know the due date next week.

AFM - Well it is still hard to believe I am actually having a baby! My husband doesnt believe in saying 'hello' to our peanut because he doesnt think it is a baby yet. he might change his thoughts when he sees the ultrasound. I havent put on any weight, but definitely have a larger than normal waist! Struggling to find work jeans to fit at the moment... Can anyone tell me what scan it is that you can get a sonogram pic? We are going to copy it and send it to our siblings with a card from the peanut to let them know they are going to be aunts and uncles. As for telling our folks, we have to get them both here on the same weekend which will hopefully be in May and we are going to give our mums a baby carriage charm for their pandora bracelets and the dads will get a bottle of grandfather port to share. I can not wait to share the news!

I shall leave it there as it is turning into a novel! I hope you are all well, sending lots of positive vibes for great results.

xo

Excited Fist Timer- You should get a pic at any scan but I know for sure you can get pictures at the 12 weeks scan (depending on your scan provider). You can always ask when you make the booking if they will print you shots. We also got a video and the last scan they put the pictures on a disc soft copy for us - very good as you look at the pics so often they get ruined.

I've got Giggle & Hoot on for the DD. Giving me a rest. She is obsessed, sitting up in her hoot pajamas singing along. At least she is a good reminder of the prize at the end once I'm done with being so ill and tired.

Hope everyone else is having a great night.

SC - hope their is no tsumani in the area & your holiday is unaffected by the earthquake in the area.

Franno - how exciting that your mum is coming over.

Monkey - great news on the scan

Anon - I haven't done the GTT yet though my high risk ob mentioned it being done around the time of the NT scan

funnygirl - yay to seeing bub & to being a graduation appt from your FS

Catty - glad the scare was nothing

Hi to everyone else.

AFM - home from work early tonight because I'm sick & I'm tired & over it all so one of my workmates offered to stay back later.  I'm also a total emotional wreck atm so really need the break I have coming up now.  Am looking after a couple of DS's friends tomorrow so hopefully the 3 of them will keep each other entertained.

hi everyone,  sorry no time for personal replies tonight as today's MS has had my rushing to the toilet about every 15 min.....

Went to the Tuesday morning and he cleared me to come off bedrest as the the cramping stopped sunday night. Still sore and bruised on my arms, chest and hips and a lovely shade of blackish green in certain area's but at least its looking less and less likly that i did crack any ribs.

Spent today though wishing that i was still able to be in bed.  Had 9 kids here today with the structured activity being war games and army boot camp ( i'm a family daycare educator specialising in school age care )   Made it very interesting when i couldnt stop vomiting.  Got another 10 kids ( including my own ) here tomorrow learning magic tricks so hoping i am feeling better tomorrow.

On the plus side got to go out last night and see my favourite comedian.  Was only meant to be a 2 hour show but he spent almost 4 on stage so we got our money's worth.  That did mean though that we were still out ( and in the next town ) at midnight last night so i am more than ready for bed...

Hope everyone is doing well.  Cant believe soon i'll be able to stop wishing everyones bubs stickyness.  Were all almost at the end of the first trimester!!  Few more weeks to go....

For those of you who have experienced a miscarriage in the past have you been worried when you've reached the week that it happened in the past.  I have m/c twice once at 8 weeks and once at 10weeks and have been really noticing some anxiety and memories being dragged up now that i am almost 10 weeks...

Sorry if its a little confusing true to form i've had to stop about 3 times for more rushes to the bathroom

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting in this thread and I'm a little nervous at the moment.

As of today, I'm now 7 weeks 5 days preggars and it's my first pregnancy. I just noticed I'm having some brown spotting today and I'm getting a bit worried. Is this normal?

Would appreciate any of your feedback. I was thinking if I continue to have spotting tomorrow, I might go see my GP sad.gif

Melfrog, generally browm blood means old blood so things might be alright, are you having cramping?
I would still go to your doctors and get checked out tomorrow, good luck be thinking of you.
ps bleeding is common in pregnancy, please try not to stress to much, alot of the time it is unexplained bleeding

Hi again everyone,

Thank you for the welcomes. It's fascinating reading your storıes - all so different but in the same boat. Firstly Mei (or Meifong) - is it definitely brown discharge? My latest research showed yellow (or maybe dark yellow) discharge is really normal and expected. This is also my first time so the others will know better but a check-up would help ease your mind.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I was hesitant about getting a check so early as I'm in Turkey and it's pretty expensive here. But my fiance booked me in for tomorrow and I'm excited about it. I've been managing my MS well with Elevit and grazing through the day so sometimes I question how it's going.

Wow, some of you are working so hard...and more sick than me. I haven't found work here yet. I was anxious about it but it's a blessing to see how this first trimester goes.

Lovely to connect with you all!
