I think they meant hopefully it was a typo on the original where-you-saw-it end. Which it could be, I guess, though that's several letters that are half a keyboard away...?

Puke. Would you pronounce it as spelled or is the awful spelling just to be youneek and it's pronounced like the Scottish clan?

I automatically pronounced it the way it was spelled, with the "qu" making the "kwe" sound.

My brain rebelled at first, and didn't want to read what it was, I initially saw "Macquarie" like the dictionary... I thought "that's not so bad", then I ACTUALLY saw it, and...

WTF???

I have seen this exact name/spelling recently too. I felt a little unsure how to pronounce it at first.

Am I the only one who is reading the "qu" as a "k-we" sound not a "keh" sound? Because I can't think of too many words where the "qu" is in the middle and it's pronounced as "keh"
