Ok I am aware you arent doctors.
My 7 year old DD has had a bad headache since Monday, she had a fever Monday night which we temporarily reduced with childrens panadol. Each night her temp has been high. The headache is still here which makes it 4 days and despite giving her nurofen zavance x2 and childrens panadol this morning it hasnt done a thing. Her temp is now hovering between 34.4 and 35.2. I have just given her more nurofen
I have a gp appt late this afternoon but am wondering if it would be better to go to the ER

I'd call Nurse On Call or equivalent in your state.
Isn't 35 a low temperature, not a fever? The lowest my kids ever register on our thermometer is 36.4 or so. Their fevers are 38 or higher.

Can you call Health Direct or whatever it's called?
1300 health is it?

1800 022 222 is the number for health direct. It is worth giving them a call and seeing what they say.

I too would call nurse on call or the equivalent. The low temperature would worry me. I also know of two people who have had viral meningitis in the last few weeks. They had a terrible headache for days and in desperation went to the ER. They were kept in hospital for a few days.
I hope your DD feels better soon.

Doctor just rang me they are squeezing her in at 3pm instead of 5pm. Thanks for the advice.
I rang Health Direct and she rang my GP to see f they could squeeze her in any sooner.

It appears she has a virus that is going around causing headaches and then after a few days gastro.
