What do you think of the name Claudia?

I like! Do you say clow-dia or claude-ia? It doesn't have a very nice meaning; if that's something that would bother you.

Claudia Elisabeth is nice wink.gif

Love it so much we used it for our DD. We have received nothing but compliments on the name, and it really suits DD.

The only real problem we ran into with it is that we struggled to get a MN that flowed well. DD is Claudia Vivian - but the MN was chosen to honour someone in the end. We also considered Claudia Celeste and Claudia Rhiannon but Claudia was by far the toughest name on out shortlist to match with a MN.

I love it. I love either pronounication.

In fact I am sad about Claudia at the moment because I have a friend called Claudia (she is Spanish so it is the Clow-dia pronouciation) and she is so funny and makes me laugh! But she is moving back to Spain now and I wont see her for a long time sad.gif booo.
Still a great name though!

This. It is a beautiful name. I would chose a MN that doesn't end in an "a" sound
Claudia Beth
Claudia Alice
Claudia Estelle
Claudia Grace
etc....

I like it, but I always think of the girl from Babysitter's Club. Early imprinting I guess.

I like Chloe too, but Chloe is more popular, I think? And I've never warmed to Clara for reasons that probably don't make any sense.

I think it's very nice, but it's tainted for my by an ex using it. I generally don't go for names that have a male equivalent IFYKWIM. Lovely name tho.

I think of the Babysitters Club too. I really like it. Much nicer than Chloe.

I love it pronounced 'Clow-dia' but don't really like it pronounced 'Claw-dia'

#20 B.feral3

Posted 05 April 2012 - 02:30 PM

I'm not a huge fan, but don't hate it either.

#21 Chelara

Posted 05 April 2012 - 02:38 PM

Not a fan, either pronunciation. Clowdia is too much like cloudy ammonia for me and Claudia is harsh and I dislike Claude too.  At least it is not common, not made up, easy to spell and I am sure I'd grow to like it if I knew a little girl with that name.

#22 Jekaho

Posted 05 April 2012 - 02:43 PM

Really like it.
I pronounce it Claude-ia.

#23 Oriental lily

Posted 05 April 2012 - 03:24 PM

I think it's lovely.

#24 calico

It's very harsh and unattractive, all i hear is claws and cloud.

#25 boatiebabe

Too 70s for me and harsh.
