I know it's very early days yet, but thought it might be fun to find out how we all refer to the little ones we're carrying.
We call ours "Scotch" as in scotch tape. After two prior losses, we're praying that this one will stick
Anyone else have a funny nickname for bub?

She is due to join us in about 5 weeks and all evidence indicates that the nickname is going to stick.
She is like Mexican food in that she has left my wife feeling bloated and gassy

During our first pregnancy 'Boomba' As I wanted that baby to be healthy and chubby.
I haven't figured out a name for this one, I just keep saying 'that baby' not very inventive!

Project A. (we have picked out boys/girls name; both start with "A")

atm we call it Pea
as DH was asking me what the baby would be like at the moment and I said about the size of a pea
I dont know if we'll change along with its size hehe or come up with something else

With DS it was peanut because like you LittleJacksonOne, I was reading my Up the Duff book and the measurement showed he would have been the size of a peanut! So it stuck!
I honestly thought it would stick post birth but it didn't.
Haven't decided with this one yet but I'm guessing it will probably be peanut again, or peanut#2!

We called DD jellybean from the time of the dating scan cause that's what she looked like on the screen. We haven't come up with anything for this one yet, maybe we will at the scan again

Bubs at this stage - not very imaginative. Last time I let DH choose and we ended up with tadpole that got shortened to Tad...

Hi Teeny Bopper
- we call ours pip or pipsqueak. Actually comes from In the night garden - every episode the narrator says "isn't that a pip!" and one night DH turned to me and said we should call our next bub "pip".

We are calling ours Pudd

I keep trying to think of a good "name" but she is stuck with Baby.
DS calls her Belly Baby. I am trying to get him to understand there is a baby in mummys Belly - so now she gets Belly Baby then he blows raspberries or says HELLLLLOOOO at my belly. LOL

This bub is Jellybean our DD was peanut and I was sure it would stick after birth. She gets pumpkin now not really sure where that came from

I refer to ours as bub but all our family including my DF think it's a boy and if so the name will be Jet so they all call it Jet :-)

We call our's Monkey. DP set a ticker on his phone and, for lack of a better one, put a monkey icon next to it, the name has just stuck
Posted 11 April 2012 - 01:02 PM
we called ours BB, short for baby blob
Posted 12 April 2012 - 09:57 PM
Well we call DS cuddley because he is just that so we decided to call this baby snuggely...lol!

I have started to refer our baby as 'Bubbles', cause just before i found out my stomach was always gurgling and bubbling. I figure its quite fitting and can be shorten to 'Bubs'.

Nugget. Hehe. I am a classy chick.

I called him/her 'Young Tarquin' for a couple of weeks, as that's the name I use to describe stereotypical spoiled upper class tots. "Oh yes, young Tarquin is coming along splendidly!" DP said he wasn't using that, pick something else. He/she is now Beanie, because of his size and the fact that all of him can currently fit in a newborn's beanie.

Foetus. We're weird people.

At this stage (6 weeks) we don't really refer to bubs as anything. We talk about 'the pregnancy' but I think after the dating scan (next week) things will seem a bit more real and we'll hopefully be able to relax a little.
After having a ectopic pg a few years ago, I think it's got to do with me not getting too attached before reaching the first milestone (dating scan where I can hopefully see that it's the right spot and has a strong HB) IYKWIM?

, not as weird as us...

We call ours Baby Bee, my DH and I have a silly private joke about bees and call each other 'bees' all the time so made sence that our baby would be a bee too
