Calling MrsS - Are you still around, my love ??
Wanting your due date to add your beautiful twin girls to our list?!?!
(I've worked it out as the 24th Sept... is that nearly close?)
Lovin you x

Fairey that's a relief. Re plus size maternity clothes, if you feel the urgeto shop, check out old navy. They actually have a section for it on their website. keep in mind the size difference though, e.g. I'm normally 16-18 here so in their store I buy 14-16. Anyway the measurements will be there too I'm sure.
Sonmat I'm a DD too and I'm kind of busting out of my bras now but they are still wearable. But I have bought a few ahh bra type things (big w also stocks them but they're more expensive than those online offers). I find them useful to wear to bed and around the house. on the topic of morning sickness all day, I discovered getting hungry made me sicker. So I drank drinks with calories (juice mostly, sometimes milk) and ate a lot of ice blocks and fruit. I could still function, go to work but did zero housework, zero cooking and minimal eating. If it got any worse for me I probably would have asked the dr for something.
Olive baby fantastic news! So happy to hear your scan went well. I'm jealous you got to 'skip' a week of pregnancy!
And pz I'm glad your injection went ok. After the initial mental hurdle I'm sure you'll get used to it.
So I said I wouldn't be on here much! Pfft. One week until my next Ob appt where we *might* find out the sex. I still have little idea, my husband reckons boy so I'm kind of swayed by that. Normally I have strong guesses about other peoples babies, but for mine I have no clue. To the ladies who want a surprise or don't know yet, what are your guesses?

OMG Stupid PC - I just lost the longest post in history Had proper personals and everything. That will teach me, next time I'll open a Word Doc instead.
Fairey - I'm still around. Yes 24/09 is my EDD based on 40 weeks. Had my morphology scan on Thursday, didn't go as well as I had hoped but there are still two heartbeats so that's the main thing. Bit of a problem with Twin 2. I had typed out all about it in my post but lost it Short version: fingers crossed she will be ok
What other info do you need for the list? I'm in Brisbane, EDD 24/09/12. Having ID twin girls . Umm what else?
Posted 05 May 2012 - 01:32 PM
Mrs S - Oh no ... I have everything crossed that your darling little girl will be okay. Was the heartbeat still nice and strong? I hope so.
Thinking of Keith Urban with this one... "... and all we need is Faith". I have all the hope and faith that she'll be okay. Thinking of you xx
(and yes - that's all the details I need for the list - thankyou xx)
Little Lion - Yep I'm well aware of Old Navy - look on there quite regularly!! I think at this stage I'm okay for clothes - but thanks a million for thinking of it!!
you all xx

PZ – wow twins! How exciting for you! I hope the injections aren’t too bad. Hubby was half expecting us to have twins because they run in our family, and was quietly relieved we had one heartbeat ☺
OliveBaby – Love that you had a nice strong heartbeat! AND skipped a week (almost). Was great of your OB to do the scan first. Mine did too. Was such a good start to the appointment that’s for sure ☺
Sonmat – I hope the morning sickness/all day sickness doesn’t effect you too much. I have to say, I’ve been more fatigued than anything else. I do get a bit nauseous in the afternoons and have to eat – crackers, licorice, drink cold water. Sorry I can’t be more help!
I’ve only bought a few bras from target that don’t have underwire. My SIL said the hospital where we are having the baby sells really good maternity bras, she bought them and said they were the most comfortable of all that she bought. Maybe your hospital has some too?
Fairey – thanks for keeping the list updated! IT was a bit unfair for the medical clinic to scare you like that! Surely they could have left a message if it was just about a cheque. Yay for buying furniture and for reaching 24 weeks! How exciting.
Little Lion – it’s hard to stay away isn’t it! I’m with you. Of the few people we’ve told they ask me too what we think we’re having. I have no idea! Healthy & happy is all we need ☺
Mojo – love you got a “man pram” as well as an everyday pram. How did you choose? I have no idea where to start!
PCM – how are you going? When is your scan?
How is everyone else going?
AFM: still really tired all the time. I even had a nap in the back of my car at work this week :-/ I couldn’t help it! I was getting the head nods at my desk and just had to lie down!
Still buzzing off the excitement of seeing our little one on the scan! I’ve got my 12w scan on 15th May ☺ I can’t wait.
I want to go out and shop up a storm! But have no idea where to start?
What was the first thing you bought for bubs? Or for yourself?
Hope you have a good weekend ladies!
Posted 05 May 2012 - 03:52 PM
Mrs S I am sorry you didn't get fantastic news. I hope twin 2 is going ok and that your next scan goes better. hugs to you!
Des hen I'm jealous you have a car to sleep in at lunch! I work in the CBD so no such luck. I hear the fatigue should end for me soon as I'm entering second trimester soon.
Posted 05 May 2012 - 06:51 PM
Pz OMG that's such lovely news that you are having twins! How special
Hooloo, thats good you have a specialist Ob so you know he will look after you and baby really well. When do you meet him? And yay to a spew!
Jlove, yes I think its better to have the bath and change table separate. One is because Im guessing you need to put baby straight on the change table after bath to dry and nappy up etc, and also to use the change table through the day you would have to make sure you have dried out the bath underneath properly to prevent mould and moisture etc iykwim? Yes Ive been watching birth clips on youtube and its like the body just completely takes over and you have no choice but to go with the ride. Awww DH whispering secrets to your bug sounds so cute!
Fairey thats some nice purchases you have there And yes medical clinics should not make calls like that to patients! And a huge congrats on reaching 24weeks, another milestone to celebrate.
Mojo thanks for the sids info and cot protectors. Maybe I should just put down some thick towels instead until bub is a little bigger... oooohhhh you are going to have so much fun with the Bee!!! and LOVE the Man pram idea
Ah so it was the mysterious Marylou who bought the preg seat belt. So glad you had a nice baby moon.
Wahoooooo Olive baby and Deshen - positive scans all round here atm! I hope things get clarified next scan with regards to your kidneys and ovaries, Deshen. The first things I bought were clothes, wash cloths, blankets... and then it just continued on from there! If you like Ill make up a list of everything we have gotten so far. 15th May is so soon!
PCM and Sonmat, nausea and fatigue are a great sign. Even though they make you feel so yucky and depressed! I got the bonds mat knickers pretty early on because my tummy was bloated and tender: http://www.bonds.com.au/maternity/bumps-bi...=74&142=777
You can also find them on ebay. I got a bunch of clothes off ebay and am glad I did now! Also got some from a mat store to wear to work.
Little Lion, I had no idea what the gender was up until about a few days before the scan and I was leaning towards boy. But I really had no idea for so long! Wonder if you will find out?! How many weeks will you be? Oh just looked and you will be 15 weeks. Wooooooo that is SO 2nd tri!
MrsS I am so sorry to hear the news wasnt great for one twin. Wish you didnt lose your post, isnt that so annoying. I really hope the little one comes through okay and starts behaving herself! Sending you big cyber hugs
AFM we ended up getting the $600 City Mini GT stroller which is $200 more than the City Mini. This one has better tyres for all terraine (So I can go over thick grass, rocks etc) and when you put the back down to reclining position to put a new born in, it's longer and fits our Phil&Teds cocoon given to us by a friend. So we are happy! We had to order it though and might take quite a few weeks. We got it in black and grey. http://www.babyjogger.com/city_miniGT_sngl_dtl.aspx
I have really tired days and then energetic days. Days where the top of my ribs is agony and other days where its fine. Baby seems to love hanging out on the right side for some reason When I have a braxton hicks I often feel what seems to be his little bum poking out, because my tummy goes completely lop sided and cone shaped! Im getting the urge now to sort through the baby clothes into sizes and put the size 0000 and 000 in the baskets and drawers ready for baby mmmmmm I found the other day I have a varicose vein down there Its swollen and hurts but not all the time. Am going to tell Dr on Monday. xxx
Posted 05 May 2012 - 09:33 PM
COngrats to Des Hen on the great scan! Did you find out if you have only one kidney?
Fairey- Nice cot! Will you be using that at home as well as when you travel? Yeah we are slowly getting everything as well, but I am also not going to get EVERYTHING as I want to wait and see what I get for my baby shower. Glad the medical centre call was about a cheque, just shows that no matter how far we have come we can easily fall back into our old ways!
Mojo- How exciting you got the bee! At it always feels so much better when you get it for a good price! How funny your DH got a man pram!! And I cant believe your 28 weeks already- it seems like the time is flying now...
Pz- WOW TWINS!!!! Congratulations! The third mama with twins in here! Hope the daily injections go ok. hugs to you
Marylou! glad to hear you had a good time on your babymoon. How did you go with the mountainbiking? Did you get tired quicker?
olivebaby- COngrats to you on the scan!! How exciting for you to see a good healthy storng heartbeat I hope the 3 weeks goes quickly for you
SOnmat- Bummer about your sickness, but on the plus side at least its a good pregnancy symptom! I didnt really have too much sickness but I did realise that whenever I started feeling sick it was because I was hungry. With the maternity underwear (bras and knickers) I didnt get it till I was 20 weeks, a bit late but my body didnt change much. I think it really depends on how quickly your body changes, do what is most comfortable for you. With the bra you should go somewhere where you can get fitted so that they can give you advice on the sizing
Little lion- I am keeping my bugs sex a surprise but I am guessing a boy. I think its cause of my shape, I have a stomach that sticks straight out and nothing else about my body has changed really
MrsS- Thinking of you and praying that your twin 2 will be ok xoxo
Loulla- I am scared to watch a birth clip!! Although I should do that soon....what was your reaction when you watched the first one? Nice pram! Also my bug likes hanging out on the right side as well! SO you are starting to get the nesting tendancies! Go crazy! And ouch re your varicose vein, good idea to ask doc
AFM nothing much doing, had my ob appointment on Tuesday and my diabetes blood test. Scan showed that bug was doing fine and apparently had a belly that measured 26 weeks! So bug has a big belly! hehe! No one has called me about my diabetes test results so I am going to assume that all is ok. Might chase them up next week...
My next purchase will be the change table, waiting for it to come into stock http://www.youngoz.com.au/baby-furniture/b...ngetable-1.html
Have a lovely weekend ladies!

Jlove, omg i love that change table/drawers! Thats nice baby is big and healthy. Hope the GD results come back fine.
Here is a link of a birth that is okay to watch IMO. Im not sure though if Im even allowed to put this link up? If not, sorry mods. Please girls only click on it if you want to watch every detail of third stage labour and birth! Watching clips doesnt scare me, in fact it reassures me because most of them are way less dramatic than people think.
The bad thing about Youtube though is it shows other clips to watch that are similar and some you dont want to click on because they are creepy and nothing to do with the natural wonder of birth!
Posted 06 May 2012 - 03:48 PM
Oh no MrsS I hope everything will be okay with your little twin! I hope you can update us soon with better news...
Lou how are you going? any new developments?
Keeping all my fingers crossed for both you ladies!
Jlove you have just made my change table choice! am I interpreting the picture correctly that the shelves in the door can also slide out?
wow Loulla I just spend an hour watching birth clips and every single time when it slips out I have to cry you are right though it does seem pretty okay... there was one where the comments said something about a episiotomy and I couldnt watch that... so I guess the more complicated bloody ones do make it on to youtube too but not as many (as not to scare people away???)
still waiting to pop out... finally got back into a gym routine and only gained about 2.5kg so far!
oh and yes very scared about telling my boss tomorrow...

I think its time for me to leave the ttc group and join you in here (if you'll have me of course )
I got a bfp last Wednesday and have done 3 tests since then all getting darker.
I cant say there's not nerves there but I am trying really hard to focus on the present and not think about the future as I cant control that. And at the moment Im really grateful to be given another chance so Im just trying to let myself be happy about that.
(ps Fairey - Ive been for a few days and OMG I think you nearly gave me heart failure waiting for your update about the phone call - I was so worried for you. Very glad all is ok!)
Posted 06 May 2012 - 10:24 PM
WOO HOO GAIA!!!!!!
So freaking happy that you have a BFP!! Wishing you all the beautiful most stickiest fairy dust in the world!!
Can definitely understand your apprehension given all that you've already been through. All you can do is think positively - and know that we're all here for you xxx
Stick, baby, stick!!
PS - Thanks for thinking of me - stoopid medical clinic!!

Hello lovely ladies, been away for a bit..
Well, had a bit of a scare on Saturday - some spotting at week 6 and a bit. I went into a panic but thankfully it has stopped.
I had a blood test on Sunday. My hcg is around 44000 and prog 282 which was a great relief. IVF nurse was saying that spotting is really common around this stage with IVF pregnancies.
My scan is Wednesday and I'm a bit anxious now. All those memories coming back from my previous attempts....
Other than that... I'm nauseous 24/7 and whatever I choose to eat always seems to be the wrong thing.
Definitely up a cup size too, I reckon. The up side is that now I actually fill out my bras a bit better.
Sorry, no personals. Glad all is well with you all.
Will be back after my US.
Only 2 more sleeps...
Posted 07 May 2012 - 09:11 AM
welcome Gaia! So happy to see you here. I hope this baby is a sticky one.
Porkchops mama I'm glad your scan is coming up soon. That blood test plus the nausea must be somewhat comforting though. I willbe thinking of you Wednesday.
Jlove that's a fabulous chest of drawers.
Superfruity good luck telling the boss. I'm sure you will feel a lot of relief once you tell him/her. Let us know how you go.
Loulla that's funny you posted a birth video. I woke up this morning during a dream about giving birth! There's another first, another milestone. Hehe. Oh and depending on how you count it, I think I'm hitting second trimester today!! to those who are further along than me, when did you start telling everyone? And statistically when does the miscarriage risk drop?
Posted 07 May 2012 - 01:05 PM
Sonmat – Hopefully it gets better for us both soon. My ms has got worse and worse which is why I haven’t been on much. I’m just exhausted and ill all the time so struggling to get through work and uni (doing NOTHING around the house).
I bought my first maternity bra the other day from Mothercare. I’ve gone from a B/C to a DD so was getting pretty desperate. The one I got was on sale $50 down to $15 so I scored a bargain! The weird thing is that even though my bb’s are still sore because of the nausea I’m actually losing weight and I think a bit of it has come from my chest so I’ve gone back to being slightly below a DD but not small enough for a D… very strange and annoying.
Loulla – haha yeah spew=good but it’s now becoming a multiple times a day occurrence which is NOT fun. It’s comforting but I’m not going to pretend to enjoy it
I won’t be seeing the specialist OB until 14 weeks so I have another appointment with my GP/OB/Women’s Health Specialist next week to get referrals for NT and bloods… I’m really hanging out for these next 3.5-4 weeks to fly by so I can hopefully start feeling a little more human and explain to my work colleagues why I’m so useless at the moment (a tummy would be nice too).
Gaia – Welcome to the group!
Porkchop – I had some spotting at about 6 weeks and then again just this week (8) but there hasn’t been associated cramps and it was all old ‘dark’ blood so I’m pretty sure everything is fine. I’ve just tried to compare with what I know a mc feels and looks like and that helps to put me at ease. hugs for a stressful time
Little Lion- from what I understand there are drops in chance of miscarriage at several points along the way. Milestone 1 is seeing a HB which takes it from 15-25% to about 3% then 13 weeks it drops again then after 18 weeks it’s no longer mc and problems become very very rare. My mum is a women’s health doctor ad has said to me that 16 weeks is when you can start to really relax (she had 2 mc’s and was also relating it to my complications though so it’ll be different for everyone.
AFM - not much to report, sick ALL the time and generally struggling through life right now. Apologies in advance as I don't think I'll be able to get on very much for a little while, just keeping my life in some semblance of order is taking everything I have. I have an assignment due for uni in 2 weeks and am seriously considering asking for an extension as I am struggling to do anything at all but I really hate extensions as they then eat into other assignments and tasks including exams at the end of semester (hopefully by then I'll be feeling better, should be about 14 weeks then).
Posted 07 May 2012 - 02:08 PM
*Gaia* - can't believe I missed your post. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! So delighted to see you here too. I've honestly found everyone here a great support. Especially as I'm in those uncertain early weeks still, the same time as when I've lost my other pregnancies. XXXXX
Hooloovoo - thank you for sharing your own spotting history. I'm feelling better about it all. I know it's common but there's nothing like a MC history to drive a woman into panic mode at the slightest drop of blood.
I can also relate to the 24 hour sickness. I've not thrown up but you are right, it is making life a struggle. I'm hoping that my scan result on Wednesday will ease my suffering...
Posted 07 May 2012 - 03:58 PM
thanks for the stats hooloovoo. that's cool your mum is a doc! On the topic of uni, I recommend applying for an extension now. That way it is already approved if you need it. If you don't need it, great.
Posted 09 May 2012 - 09:34 AM
just popping in quickly to wish PCM all the best with your scan today! Thinking of you!
my boss was actually very happy and even gave me a hug *which is so very unlike her* now I only have to figure out the money issue and if they are gonna give me another contract or not. but I found out I will be getting some paid maternity leave in any case as I also qualify as a longterm casual. i just would like to have a proper paycheck leading up to baby so I can save some money as well
hope everyone is well! Have a great day ladies!

Good Morning Ladies,
Finally some time for personal which I have to admit I started on Monday – heheh has taken me a while.
Fairey – Very pleased to hear that everything is good with you!! And congratulations on reaching 24 weeks
PCM – all your symptoms sound great. Sorry to hear about your scare! Luckily it all stopped and your HCG levels sound perfect! I will be thinking about you today! Good luck! Stick baby stick and show mama a nice strong heartbeat!
PZ – CONGRATULATIONS! YAY!!! Another set of twins! CUTE!!! How exciting – YAY! Well done! Good luck with all your injections. You will do great!
Superfruity – I can definitely recommend Palm Cove. Peppers resort was definitely beautiful and very suitable for pregnant ladies. Felt like half the women there were pregnant fantastic to hear that everything went well with your boss! YAY! Good luck with all the money negotiations and I cross my fingers for you that you get another contract.
Olivebaby – also congratulations to you! Well done! The NT scan is great – 3 weeks isn’t that far away.
Sonmat – you poor thing with the MS. I hope it gets better soon. It lots of crackers and drink plenty of water. Hopefully that will help you. Regarding maternity bras – I made the mistake of buying them to early and now I have grown out of 3 of them and they are so expensive. I had to buy two new once last weekend. I would suggest to wait as long as you can and then get professional help and don’t let them sell you one where you have already reached the last or second last hook as your rips extend by quiet a bit and you will need those additional hooks for the bra to grow with your boobs and chest. I think the cheeky bugger sold me the small one on purpose so I would have to buy more later on.
MrsS – I also have everything crossed for you that your little girl will be all fine and healthy!
Loulla – I hope your ribs get better soon! How often do you get braxton hicks? Enjoy sorting through the baby clothes Its so much fun! I have done the same. Washed them all and then sorted them. Too cute. Could do it all over and over again. You poor thing having varicose veins. I hope you will only have the one and that’s it!
Jlove – Mountainbiking was fun. I got hot very quickly which was a bit of a worry so we did quiet a few stops on the way but it was fun for sure. No news is good news with your diabetes test I would say YAY! The change table you bought is beautiful! Love it! Really really nice!! Seeing that I wish I had gotten something similar instead of a chest if draws and then a separate change table.
Gaia – congratulations! YAY!
Hooloovoo – I hope you feel better very soon and get your strength back!
AFM – Work has been a little crazy and not very nice as it still seems like I am getting treated differently since being pregnant. After a discussion with my midwife I have decided to change my maternity leave dates and will now start it at 31 1/2 weeks. Which is only 7 1/2 weeks away! YAY! DH is away for 2 weeks and we cant contact each other at all. Not via phone, text or email....nothing which is a really strange feeling. I don’t like it at all but luckily its ‘only’ two weeks. I am still loving Yoga and have started a knitting course – turning into a proper mum hehehe. My goal is to knit a baby blanket before our boy is born – we shall see how that goes hehehe. We have been looking at buying a car...why do they have to be so expensive We didn’t end up buying one...test drove a lot of small cars like the Nissan Micra and Mazda 2 but even those small cars are between $15k and $20k which is a lot of money just before going on maternity leave and not having any money. But we will have to get a car before bub is born. Otherwise I don’t have much to report. Bub is moving a lot which is so nice to feel. Such a great feeling every time a feel him. Can’t wait to meet him in August
Posted 09 May 2012 - 11:52 AM
Girls, I finally have good news. On this journey through 17 months of hell....
Bub and I survived the 7 week scan except that I burst into tears at the sight of him/her. Bub is measuring to dates and perhaps most miraculously has a perfect heart beat of 130!!!!
EDD 26/12/2012 but I'm sticking to 25/12/2012....
Thank you all for your reassurance and support over this entire journey so far and into the future.

Hey ladies, sorry I haven't been posting much lately but have come down with the flu and feeling like crap.
Welcome to all the new ladies, looking forward to getting to know you all.
Congrats on the twins Pz
Yay for a great scan PCM.
AFM well I thankfully haven't had any more bleeds since the last one at 13 weeks so fingers crossed that was the last one. I am 15 weeks now and have my next scan in 2 weeks which I can't wait for and we will see if my ob's gender guess at 12 weeks was right.
Sorry to eveyone I have missed but my brain just isn't functioning under its flu daze.
Posted 09 May 2012 - 06:35 PM
PCM CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am truly so happy for you Viability is very high after seeing a heartbeat Are you going to wait until the 12wk nuchal scan or will you get another reassurance one in between? Just so you know, medicare part-covers only two scans that aren't under the nuchal or morph scan. So if you have more than 3 (including dating scan and reassurance scans), you will have to pay the entire cost. Hope you keep on feeling really sick and tired yahooooo!
Rara I spotted at 4 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks and then nothing... it was very light and I had no pain and baby is going fine. But I know if you have had a MC before it makes your heart skip a beat... the unknown can be so overwhelming hey. Hope you get better from the flu - make sure you keep your temperature down for baby.
Marylou, so good to hear from you properly after losing your post! I have lots of veins all over my legs, of different colours shapes and sizes But if it means we have a healthy lovely baby then I can accept it I get braxton hicks everyday! Some times if Im tired and going up and down stairs a lot at work I get more. Apparently drinking water helps. But they dont hurt, just super tight! That sounds like a frustrating situation at work. There are some odd people out there who have no idea, and sometimes you happen to work with/for them unfortunately. Hope you're okay? New car sounds good and yes expensive. If you get a demo one or one thats even just a year old but still under warranty the price gets knocked down a bit.
Superfruity, good to hear about your bosses reaction and that you are eligible from some mat leave And im glad you enjoyed watching the birth clips! I also cry when they slip out... its just amazing
Hooloo, hope your MS eases sooner than later. It sounds super uncomfortable I also made the same mistake of buying a mat bra too early and had to give it to my friend as it was so small especially around the back. Luckily it was on sale. I just bought one recently and the lady made sure there was lots of back room and the cup was slightly larger. Im happy with this one. Ive just been wearing wire free bras for now, but wanted to have one soon in case baby came early or something. Good luck with uni.
Welcome Gaia and congratulations on such wonderful news.
Littlelion wooooot 2nd trimester!!!!!!!!!!! I didnt tell people until they guessed So at work that was from about 16 weeks on. My close friends and family already knew though because I needed the support.
AFM not much to report. Was so tired and emotional yesterday but today have energy and feel great. Every day is different. Im getting excited about meeting him Have been craving this organic beef jerky from the local butchers and am not sure if I can eat it or not, but I couldnt not, the craving took me to a new intense level and I HAD to have it in my mouth and being chewed immediately! Sleeping is getting gradually more and more uncomfortable but it doenst keep me awake or anything, I just ache sometimes. xxx

great news PCM!!! Now the next 5 weeks wait for the NT scan
Yay rara that the bleeding has stopped!! and I am finally no longer alone due in October I am a bit jealous that you will find out what you'll have so soon... I have to wait til my morph scan... What was your Ob guess at 12 weeks?
MaryLou only 7.5 weeks more of work... exciting... is your leave paid?
I have found out some very good things about my employer's parental leave policy... (maternity pay comes out of central account not the project account that currently pays me, the length of my fixed term contract doesnt make a difference as long as my due date is included and no replacement needs to be hired...) all these points make it look very positive for me to get another contract until the end of the year and bag 14 weeks paid maternity leave... unless my boss has some other things in her head that I haven't thought about...
MrsS & Lou I hope you and your little twins are doing alright!
Little Lion Have you started telling people?
to all other fabulous moms to be
Posted 10 May 2012 - 01:09 PM
PCM yay! I'm very happy for you.
Superfruity that's good news about your job. Marylou I'm sorry your work are being idiots! That's not fair. Speaking of workplaces I wonder how Liltuss is going?
Just a quick one from me today, I had a surprise spew on the way to work so I'm working from home today (too much to do so can't take a sick day sadly). Tomorrow I see the Ob, will update you then.
