Hi everyone. I hope I'm in the right section and my questions are appropriate?
Im posting on behalf of my SIL who doesn't have Internet access. Brief run down.... SIL has 2 children the youngest is 6. No fertility issues with her or her DH at that stage. For the past 2 years they have been TTC off and on with no luck. SIL has been to see a GP who diagnosed PCOS But says she still ovulates so no need for her to see a fertility specialist. Her DH has been a sperm donor in the past and no health issues etc so they are assuming his sperm is ok.
SIL feels as though she should be seeing a fertility specialist despite GP telling her she doesn't need to. I've suggested she change Drs but in the meantime she has had me googling all sorts of info about fertility treatment options and costs. To be honest I'm confused so I'm not much help to her! A lot of websites seem to be American and I don't want to give her a bum-steer!
Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of a good Australian website or give me a basic outline of what her options would be? I see a lot of info about Clomid being first step but I can't understand why that would be prescribed if she ovulates. So would she need to go straight to IVF or can she try some other prescription or have the IUI? At any stage can she opt to bypass any of the options? Obviously she needs to see a fertility specialist but she's getting very anxious about the processes and I thought having a bit of info may assuage her n the meantime.
Thanks for the help and if I'm not in the right section please let me know and I'll remove post!

Hi GenWhy. The Genea website (formerly Sydney IVF - www.genea.com.au) has a bit of info about assisted conception procedures and the fees associated with them, so it might be useful to get an indication of what is on offer. Hope it all goes well for your SIL.
