Quick Survey: Several days late but BFN - what was the outcome?

AF was due Wednesday and so far, no show. Two BFNs HPTs - one on Wednesday, another yesterday. I'm aware that there are different reasons why AF can be late, so I'm dutifully staying calm, but a BFP is the desired outcome, so I'm letting myself have a little hope original.gif

I have been browsing a lot of old forums etc and there seems to be a mix of outcomes and no real summary of how often it ends up positive/negative.

So my question is, if you have been in this situation, what was your outcome?

A) AF turned up a few days late

B) HPT eventually came out positive (due to low HCG or some other reason)

Simple A or B answer is fine (but you can write more if you want to!).

Thanks! original.gif

It has happen 3 times and always ended in A

Some people do get late BFPs though so it's still an option!

I was a few days late. Experiencing symptoms (BFN's though) and then AF arrived 3-4 days late for the first time in my life (ie. LF constant at 14d).

Next cycle I got my BFP (and no symptoms that month LOL!!!)

Next cycle BFP! I'm now 7 weeks pregnant with #2 original.gif

Option B for me - all 3 pregnancies. I always tested on the day AF was due and never got a positive test until maybe a week after AF was due. I knew (suspected) I was PG as I had sore boobs, aversion to coffee and chocolate and funny taste in mouth right from the outset. This never happens when AF is about to arrive.

Good luck.

I was once 10 days late while we were TTC, BFN's everyday. So stressful and distressing.

A. Quite a few times. It turned out I just wasn't ovulating every month and the annovulary cycles went forever (or it felt like it anyway).

This has only happened to me once. And it was B.

I was 2 weeks late and kept getting BFN. Turned out I actually ovulated the weekend my period was due, and managed to conceive. I got a positive 2 weeks after my period was due. Though I was (and still am), breastfeeding at the time, so that most likely played a part in my cycle being out of whack.

Good luck!

Always A for me. The times I have had a bfp it's been before a missed period about dy 12, but I have read others get positives later so it always a chance you ov later. My cycles do vary and I have worked out I only ov made half the cycles.
Good luck

Did HPT 3 or 4 days after AF was due. BFN although I just knew I was pregnant. Had blood test a couple days later and BFP.
