Just wondering what others do during playtime with their 4month old.  DS only stays awake for 2hours at a time and I always try to do some playtime during that awake period unless we are out running errands.  I'm starting to think that I need some new activities though because I just do the same things over and over and I don't want to bore him.

So I was just wondering what types of things you do during playtime.  At the moment we just do tummy time, play with his toys and sing some nursery rhymes.

- soon your baby will be able to sit-up in the pram so take him for lots of walks - my son loves looking at everything - he goes really quiet on a walk

- get a CD of nursery rhymes, it will expand your repertoire and in time, you can leave it on for him to enjoy without you

- put a rug on the grass (at home or in a park) and let him look around

- put half his toys away and swap them over each day so that he gets "new" toys every day!

- read him books - it's never too early

- look up story time at your local library

- when playing tell him stories about anything, like how you met your partner, what you did as a kid etc

This might help, it links an EB article on this subject.
All the best.

Thanks Lucky 2 and ABabyPlease.  DS does love being in the pram and going for walks, defnintely looking forward to the weather cooling down so we can venture out for walks more during the day.
