Ladies, I need a bit of advice. Is anyone able to tell me if I ovulated? I'm worried my chart isn't that accurate due to different waking times (my body clock wakes me too early sometimes) and sometimes I sleep with my mouth open. I'm trying to learn how to analyze the graph but maths and science aren't my strong points!

If you have an anovulatory cycle, can you still get positive OPKs and tender breasts in the 2ww? And does fertility friend ever 'tell' you you didn't ovulate. Or does it just whack the egg icon on a day according to your OPK reading, even if your temp doesnt prove ovulation occurred?

#8 CheriDeMomie

Posted 19 February 2012 - 07:16 AM

LittleLion, i'd say you ovulated day 14/15 based on the temp drop then high spike ... I VJ temp - no chance of getting it wrong. Also, you can temp adjust, so take your temp then use the temp adjust button under Data, this will make your chart a little more accurate x

#9 caroldiem

Posted 19 February 2012 - 08:49 AM

Quick question u can't adjust your temps if u wake up at different times unless your a VIP member is that correct??? I am not a VIP member sad.gif

little lion - Could have been day 14 but hard to say because can't see day 17 temp? to be sure you O'd you need to have higher temps 3 days in a row

Thanks Cheri and carol. original.gif I will muck around with ff today to learn a bit more.

#11 Pingyrat

Posted 19 February 2012 - 10:20 AM

Thank you for the hug and the kind words caroldiem. I struggle with the fact that some women just sniff and fall pregnant, they will probably never know what other women go through. You are right about about not doing IVF until I feel ready. The trouble is I don't think I will ever be truly ready sad.gif

As for your question, you can manually temp correct by adding 0.11 for each hour you temp early and subtracting 0.11 for each hour you temp late. It certainly takes the pressure off  original.gif

little lion - I would also say CD14 just from your OPK. FF hasn't called it because it's confused with the erratic temps. Temp correcting should sort it out. Definitely consider vjj temping, it is soooo much more accurate and be aware that having a crappy night sleep or not sleeping for a solid three hours prior to temping can cause inaccurate (usually elevated) temps.

#12 HappyWomble

Posted 19 February 2012 - 01:23 PM

little lion - while your average temp is gradually getting higher, until we see a temp-corrected chart, i'm inclined to think that maybe you haven't Od yet. Your body can gear up to O a few times before actually Oing, and sometimes you get an anovulatory cycle. That's all pretty normal and healthy too, particularly if you're a bit stressed at the moment. And sometimes just tracking your cycle for the first time is enough to stress you out wink.gif . While it sucks, just use this month to get the hang of charting. Having said all that, you'll probably be UTD by the end of your cycle wink.gif

Hi Pingy

good to see you around - the FS meeting went well - my AMH score is 10 which is ok for my age (almost 40) and DP's sperm are all good so it's onto IVF just due to my age factor - that and I'm sick of faffing around when DP has to go overseas. I'll  be starting in April so have one more shot at a natural cycle... here's hoping!

I feel ready for it - not so ready to give up the wine and coffee though... but I guess I'll have to do that when I'm preggers anyway.

We are getting married in May and it's my 40th in March so I'll be sober on some pretty big life milestones...

#14 Pingyrat

Posted 19 February 2012 - 06:55 PM

Em - I'll be ph34r.gif and keeping my fingers tightly crossed for your last natural cycle. If all else fails, we can be IVF buddies. Why are you not starting until April? Not that it's a bad idea, my meltdown was due to it all happening too quickly. At least you'll have the chance to suss it all out.

My FS didn't test my AMH. He never suggested it but did say that he could see from an ultrasound that I have a good egg reserve!?  huh.gif

I know what you mean too about DH being away. Mine goes away regularly and it's such a juggle.

Congrats on the approaching wedding. If you're lucky the wedding and your 40th will fall at a time in your cycle when you can drink. My FS says not to drink in the tww but encourages you to have a life otherwise  biggrin.gif

#15 emski72

Posted 19 February 2012 - 07:29 PM

Hey Pingy,

sorry I start in March... getting my months mixed up!

My fertility nurse said that I shouldn't drink at all during the process ... or have coffee *sigh* I guess if we're putting my body through all of this I'll do as I'm told for the best possible chance.  I think they all have their own processes these FS's...

Are you starting IVF or just thinking about it at this stage... where in Aus are you? I'm in Melb going to City Fertility Clinic.

Hey Em, we actually had our appointment with the Nurse three weeks ago and were due to start that day but we decided to delay it for a month and did IUI in the meantime. So, technically, if I'm not UTD, I will be starting at the end of this week. I'm really in two minds though....wondering whether to do one more IUI and then definitely IVF the next cycle if no luck. I'd be ecstatic if I didn't have to do IVF but IUI isn't meant to be very successful and at 42, I really shouldn't be wasting time  shrug.gif  I'm in Hobart. There's only one clinic here but is has a good reputation.

pingyrat -  bbighug.gif My DH has ruled out IVF for us he won't do it where not at that stage but he said if we couldn't do it on our own then it just wasn't meant to be. truth is i probably couldn't go through it all those injections, hormones etc i couldn't cope. I hope whatever you do brings you a baby everyone deserves to be a mum and I mean sometimes you have to sacrifice things and bite the bullet to get that, take a risk....

#18 Pingyrat

Posted 19 February 2012 - 10:41 PM

Hey caroldiem original.gif

Your DH's philosophy sounds exactly the same as mine....when I had other options! I was always anti IVF but then, I never thought I'd have to go down that path. That's part of my problem with it now and like you, injecting myself with hormones freaks me out ffear.gif I don't want to do IVF but I don't want to get to a stage where it's too late and I regret not doing it. Like I said to Em, at 42, I can't waste time  wwhistle.gif

Hi Ladies

Can i join, ive been stalking for a while but never posted.

Nadia - Im thinking maybe O is today or tomorrow, your temp rise is not high enough yet? Get busy!!!

Can everyone have a look at my chart, my temps have been great and stable but the last 2 days have dipped heaps im thinking O is close but anyone had any low pre-o temps like this before? My motto this month is to BD every 2 days plus more once i get the +OPK which i havent got yet (its getting darker though just not positive yet). I dont usually O until CD18-19 but im taking Vitex to try and improve this cos my LP is only 9-10 days.

Hello lovely ladies, I have been a bit quiet this last week while sitting through my 2WW but now it looks like my stay with you might be a short one as I got a lovely  BFP.gif this afternoon at 10dpo!!  biggrin.gif
Here it is...

I'm really quite suprised that it's happened after a late ovulation and a few weird temps this month, but I'm so excited at the same time... although I still don't want to get too ahead of myself as I don't have a good very track record with only 1 from 3 pregnancies progressing beyond 12 weeks. I'll give it a few days before I go to the doc to confirm with bloods because it's still quite early on, but at least things are looking good. Now for the anxious wait.......

Hi everyone, ***** CONGRATULATIONS LISEJANE*****  ddance.gif   ddance.gif  BFP.gif  ddance.gif  ddance.gif Fx for a sticky one.

IVF must be such a difficult decision to make. I've only just started my TTC journey, hopefully something I won't have to consider. Good luck to all the ladies trying. Fx  hheart.gif

Congrats LiseJane!! Thats a very nice looking BFP for 10dpo tthumbs.gif

Good Luck with the AC pingy and emski. Hope you both get a BFP asap  hands.gif

AFM - still feeling very apathetic with regards to ttc. My heart has finally caught up with my brain, and there just seems no point when we have such horrible SAs. I'm expecting a pos OPK today (just use them as confirmation really, I only ever use 2 in a cycle) so we're BDing, but not holding out any hope until we get a better SA.

Oh, and I don't believe I've posted for a while, so Welcome to the newbies! Hope your stay is as short and sweet as LiseJanes original.gif

Thanks for the well wishes - still charting this month in the hopes of getting a freebie pregnancy biggrin.gif ... but right on cue DH's office in Amsterdam is hinting he will have to go over there for two weeks in March (right when we are due to start IVF) so I am going to make him freeze a sample so I have a back up if it does come to that.

Congrats Lisejane! I didn't get to know you at all laugh.gif !  But that's a brilliant looking result.

Hope everyone else is going well

Em x
