I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Well my morning sickness is back and super nasty...it has GOT to be getting close to going away now, surely?! I was officially 12 weeks yesterday, eek!!!

Ultrasound on Wednesday arvo, my fingers are crossed for a positive result. First time we'll see the lil grublet, will finally make it real! I'm crazy nervous and excited.

Happy Monday all x

Twilightangel - So glad your scan went well. I have been stalking  ph34r.gif How do your kids go at the Drive In? Ours are shocking for at least half the movie. Sit down, stand up, hop in the car, You stole my pillow, I'm thirsty.... etc... We went on Sat night too and thank goodness they were asleep by the second movie so DH and I got to watch Zookeeper under the stars.

I am also happy not to touch another roll of contact for a year. I'm buying clear plastic covers next year and they will make do. There is no way I am covering 3 kids books next year!

Twilight26 - Hope you are feeling better soon. I had the same meltdown yesterday about how I'm going to cope.

Hippie Chick Good luck with your u.s on wed.

Nearing 13 weeks here now and still sick. 2 kids have went back to school this morning and Ella has started Kindy. Quiet.... Its lovely lol!

Need some advice, sorry it's not pregnancy related. Just need to know if I am over reacting due to pregnancy hormones etc.

The older 2 kids went back to school today, were quite excited etc.

The issue is there is one particular dad that drops his kids off at the school that is nasty, like really nasty. Last year the cops were called on him multiple times and a few parents have had run in's with him, myself included unfortunately.

For some reason he took an instant disliking to me when he noticed I have WA plates on my car, I am constantly being told to f**k off to WA where I belong and since then it has escalated to him threatening me with physical violence and my property, when driving he has swerved to hit my car twice and another time he swerved to hit me and the kids. I know that he has followed another mum home and that he has purposely reversed into another car outside the school cause she bipped her horn at him.

Problem ... His kid is in DD1's class. As soon as I walked into the class this morning to drop her off he gave me a dirty look. I don't need to deal with his crap this year, I dont need the stress whilst I am pregnant but my only solution is to request DD1 change class rooms.

Do you think I should do that or am I over reacting?

Also one of DD1's good friends is in that class with her, do I upset her by removing her from that friend and placing her in another class? She does make friends easily which is a good thing.

I'm just so unsure of what to do. Any advice appreciated.

Twilight - go and speak to the principal and make sure they are aware of what is going on.  If he is doing it to alot of parents they may need to get a court order to keep him off of the school grounds. They may also be able to give you some advice as to what to do about changing classes or keeping DD in the same class.  This is just so not what you need right now

Hippie-chick - good luck for your scan, let us know how you go. Glad you are feeling a bit better!

Twilight 26 - I had a day like that last week and had a big talk to DH about it.  Made me feel a bit better. The thing is, we just do cope, and yes it is busier but things still get done, life goes on and we just take it one day at a time.  Good luck Tuesday for your scan xx

MS - we don't have to contact many of our books which has been great.  My eldest DS has a new teacher this year so will see what she expects!  I have to go and pay school fees for our eldest DD tomorrow for high school (the credit card is going to feel it!) and she will get her books then, but our primary kids get them once they go back. Unfortunately we have another week to go!

AFM - I am getting very impatient now.  I just want to know when my scan is.  I have my first appointment at the hospital on 1 Feb to book in and will get the referral then.  I know it has to be within the next 3 weeks, but can't wait to have a date now so I can just get that confirmation that all looks okay in there!

Anyway, have a friend coming over and my house is still a mess and I need to eat something so better go.

Talk soon

xx

twilightangel - I agree that you need to speak to the principal and make sure that the school is aware of his actions.

hippie_chick_1980 - good luck on Wednesday, it's so nice to see bub and see/hear that heartbeat.

Twilight26 - I really hope the ms eases very soon for you, i've been so much sicker this time that with the first.

magicalsurprise - you must be one of the earliest due, i'll be 13 weeks on Saturday and can't wait to be in the second trimester  biggrin.gif

AFM - Morning sickness is starting to ease, I seem to only feel sick now when i'm hungry so I can manage that with light snacking. I'm still exhausted but when I saw my OB last week he said my iron was borderline so I guess that explains the tiredness, so i've started taking extra vitamins.
I don't do the 12 week scan but my OB did one for me last week os I got to see bub again, such a big difference from the 7 week one to the 11 week one.
I have booked in my 20 week scan for 20th March so the countdown is on now, so excited to find out the sex.

Twilight26 - I'm glad your starting to feel a little more normal. Hope you continue to improve. Good luck for tomorrow, I am looking forward to hearing how it went. I think everyone has that moment when they wonder how they are going to cope but you just do. I honestly found the jump from 3 to 4 the hardest, I believe once you have learnt juggling more kids than hands then the rest is easy.

Hippie_Chick - Sorry to hear that the morning sickness has returned worse than ever. Good luck for your ultrasound on Wednesday, how exciting. Can't wait to hear all about your little ones progress.

MagicalSurprise - Thanks. The kids did well surprising. The older 3 were talkative and fidgety during the Muppets but I personally think that that was because they didn't like it. After that movie I put DS2 back into his car seat and he fell asleep within 5 minutes and the older 3 sat as quiet as mice whilst watching Alvin and the Chipmunks 3. Not bad fo their first time at the drive in's. Is there another drive in around? We went to the Yatala one. I had a mild panic attack the other night over the fact I will one day be covering 5 kids school books, ahhh!!!! Wondering if I can pay someone next year to do mine, lol or I will buy the clear plastic covers too cause at least they are reusable.

MegsW - Ouch to the credit card, hope it's not too bad. I was surprised this year. I am usally lazy and get the school packs, lol but I decided to do it myself this year and managed to save myself $60. I would be getting impatient too. I'm getting impatient for you, lol. As you would have seen on Facebook situation sorted, yay. I am so relieved.

As I mentioned to MegsW my above situation is sorted. I went to the principal this afternoon and explained that due to the run in's I have had with this gentleman (term used very loosely) I would like my daughter moved. Principal was very happy to accomodate that as I have reported every incident to him and he has even had to call the cops for me once. Principal said my options were for her to be moved tomorrow or because I expressed my concern at Alyssa losing her friend he informed me that he has to make another class as the class sizes are too large at the moment and he will put Alyssa and a friend of hers in that class with other kids to seperate her from his daughter. I am so relieved. DH and I are leaning towards sticking it out for the week until he has made the new class as then a few kids will be moving into this class and it won't look like I have purposely pulled her out to avoid him and give him more ammo towards me.

Picked up my NT scan results today. As I mentioned before bubs heartbeat was 155bpm, length is 62.3mm crown to rump and the NT measured 1.5mm. Unfortunately I have an anterior placenta again, I have only had one pregnancy where I didn't have an anterior placenta so that means DH won't feel the kicks for a while yet. My results came back as 1 in 5254 for Downs Syndrome so I am pretty sure that is low risk so I am happy about that.

Well I'm off to get the kids into bed, be back later hopefully.

Twilight 26, I'm so glad you are feeling a bit better! This MS thing is getting pretty tiring. sad.gif

Hippie chick, you have your NT scan on the same day as me. Fingers crossed for both of us!

Magical surprise, I'm glad things are more peaceful at home now that school has started again!

Twilightangel, I don't think you are overreacting at all. This mans behaviour sounds criminal and I'm glad your child and her friend get to change classes.

MegsW, I hope you find out the scan date soon. I would find it hard not knowing, too.

Jkb I'm glad you got to take a look at baby again. We are also very excited about finding out the gender. 7 weeks doesn't seem so far away now, does it?

I tend to be on the FB group more these days - I find it easier to keep up with, I guess.

I had a nasty scare on Friday where I started bleeding and had to have an emergency obstetrician appointment. It turns out that a section of the placenta that was over the cervix has torn away and was bleeding. The rest is still attached and fine and baby is fine, but it was terrifying until we got to the obstetrician. The blood is now all old and is much less than a normal period, but it all has to come out before I stop losing bits of old blood. Now I'm a few days away from second trimester, who would have thought I would be buying sanitary pads???

Anyway, it is a huge relief that baby has a very good chance of proceeding to term and not having issues.

We have our nuchal translucency scan at 13 weeks on Wednesday. The blood results are already back and my odds have reduced to 1:1100 which is great, now to wait for the scan measurements. Fingers crossed, it will be nice when we are past this little hurdle. original.gif

The MS is still there, I just have to nibble frequently otherwise I feel awful. Oh well.

Hope you are all well!

Twilightangel:  That guy sounds like a total psycho!  Did you report him to the police for threatening you and trying to run you off the road?  I feel sorry for his poor kid... I doubt anyone like that would go home and act like the ideal husband & father sad.gif

ETA: DP suggested making an anonymous tip-off to your local bikie gang, saying there's a pedo hanging around the school with his description! hehehe

hi everyone sorry havent been posting much, life has been busy. Had my first OB appointment yesterday and first look at the bean strong heart beat and all is looking well.

Sounds like lots are people are due for scans this week. Fingers crossed for you all.

I feel a bit more like I can attach myself emotionally now to the pregnancy/bubs.  I am 12 weeks tomorrow and OB said I now have less than 1% chance of MC is nice to hear these words.

We are doing the NT scans etc next monday. Hubby will get to see the bean as well as he didn't come with me yesterdat

Only matter for concern was my bloods DR indicated thyroid function was a bit on the low side. apparently for normal population  would ok, I tested 2.82 but they like you to be above 3 when pregnant I had to get another lot of bloods done for TSH levels and if its still not ok he said we may need meds.  Anyone else come across this yet? understand the risk factor is baby's brain development etc.

Good news is MS feeling has pretty much gone and I have got heaps more energy. OB gave me the all clear to continue with my exercise program ( which was good to hear. I am used to training for triathlons upto 10 hrs a week pre pregnancy and have been still swimming/running biking etc but at reduced rate intensity. I love getting out in the fresh air and I have lots of friends in the sport so it was nice to hear the OB was still supportive of me keeping going ( noting the risk of riding of the road- will have to rethink this one and back and knee problems from running as I get bigger.

Sounds like everyone is on the FB page so I might join in now. Wanted to get the all clear on the scan before outing myself so to speak. Chat soon

HI everyone,

Wow, I go away for 24 hours and so many posts LOL!! We had a screen free day here yesterday. Kids are watching too much tv/computer. It went pretty well actually and we got lots of stuff done. original.gif

I am trying to cut down on computer time so won't reply to everyone but just wanted to say:

Jane - OMG what a scare! So glad all is ok now.

I am on medication for hypothyroidism (caused by Hashimoto's disease). I was just diagnosed at the beginning of the pregnancy. I am unsure about your numbers there. TSH should be less than 2 in pregnancy. Mine was 20 to start with and now on meds is down to 1.8. If you mean FT3 level (free thyroid) then yes that should be above 3.5. They should also be testing for thyroid antibodies to indicate whether the low thyroid is due to Hashimotos or something else. In terms of effect on the baby, the baby starts making its own thyroid at about 9 weeks I believe, however you may still be put on medication as low thyroid/high TSH can increase your risk of miscarriage so its better to be on the medication. If your levels are only just slightly off though they may not bother now but you will need regular blood tests to keep an eye on your levels, particularly important after delivery when thyroid can crash out causing you to feel really ill, depression etc. Hope that helps a little.

AFM - Also feeling a bit better. original.gif A little more energy, nausea slightly better and food aversions not as bad. I even had a small weak coffee yesterday!

Mum is coming over today to help me sort out DS2's cupboard today. Its chockers full of baby linen, clothes and everything he's grown out of. There's no room for his own clothes any more! I haven't been throwing anything our because I didn't know if we were having another or not. So need to get it all properly stored now. original.gif

Wow, I just checked the contents of the instant cappucinos I have here. 400mg caffeine! That's huge! I only had about a third of it but I didn't realise it was that much. I will stick to my half a teaspoon of moccona from now on.

Twilightangel - So glad you have sorted something out that man sounds just awful!!
.
DecafJane - Good lord that would have been a scare. Im so glad it is all ok though. Do they think th placenta will have a chance to move on it own?

bindy30 - Hope you get the thyroid probs under control, glad to hear your feeling alot better though.

AFM - Scan went well and bubs was measuring 13 weeks instead of the 11weeks 6days I am. HR of 165bpm. The only problem for me was that the NT measurement was 2mm which is alot bigger than my other 2 babies (the oldest didnt have that test back then) they were 1.4 snd 1.6 but I guess the ob will let me know next week when I finally get into see him. Im pretty certain I am having another boy with a big head and fat neck like my hubby lol

#22 twilightangel

How are my fellow QLD'ers? We are pretty wet here and the creek that runs behind my house and joins to the lake a few houses down has burst it's banks and very flooded. Hoping it doesn't get any worse.

DecafJane - Wow what a scare, I am so pleased to hear that bubs is ok. Good luck with your NT scan tomorrow, hope you enjoy seeing your little one again under less stressful circumstances.

LaNeige - Yes he has been reported to the police a few times including by me. Don't seem to get much done about it though. Yeah he quite oftenly has his kids unrestrained in the car etc so I'm guessing he's not the ideal father too. I love your DP's suggestion, lol. DH is a truck driver and drives car carriers and has often thought of just pulling up, loading his car onto the truck and taking off and dumping it somewhere remote on one of his runs, lol.

Bindy30 - Glad you first OB appointment went well and that you got to see your little one. I am sure hubby will enjoy seeing bubs at your NT scan.

Jacapathus - I also have to sort through kids clothing very soon, it just seems such an overwhelming job when your going through 4 kids clothes.

Twilight26 - Wow bubs is quite a way ahead, are they going to adjust your due date. I was 12w 1d and bubs measure 12w 4d but she said stick to my EDD as it's close enough. Hope the results come back good.

twilightangel, wow what a nut! I like your DH's suggestion LOL.

I saw my endocrinologist today. She was very happy with my blood results, my thyroid is now at ideal levels. biggrin.gif She has increased my dose slightly anyway as the demand for thyroid increases until 20 weeks apparently. More tests in 3 weeks and then 4 weeks after that and then see her again after that to make sure all is still on track. Feeling glad she made the time to see me so urgently before Christmas.

LOL so embarrassing. I felt like celebrating after my appointment so I splurged on some twisties and a strawberry milk on the way home. Then got home and my friend was dropping DS1 off from a playdate at her house and busted me scoffing my junk in the car. She is a health nut who does hours at the gym each day and eats only protein shakes and the like. blush.gif She is probably thinking "Well no wonder she's getting a belly, haven't seen her at the gym for months and she's secretly binge eating." laughing2.gif

Still feeling a bit better today but pretty tired too. I am actually going to go to bed now. blush.gif waves.gif

That sounds like me at the moment! I NEVER let myself have flavoured milk normally, but at the moment I have the occasional one every week or so. What can I say, my pants no longer fit, but I'm well and truly about to pop with the belly anyway. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the replies. original.gif It was nice to see that bub was okay on Friday, takes the pressure off tomorrow a little bit apart from the actual measurements. If all goes to plan I should have another 3D picture to upload tomorrow evening. We got one last Friday but it was nowhere near as good as the previous one, as bub was hiding face-first against the placenta. I'm just really looking forward to seeing bub again.

It is going to be via dildo-cam, but after having 2 already, I'm over it. I'm still Type A enough to put up with the discomfort for the better picture quality. wink.gif

I'm not sure whether the placenta will detach enough for a normal labour, we will see how it moves during this trimester. If the obstetrician thinks the labour may be protracted or risky, I am happy to opt for a c-section. A vaginal birth without issues would be my first choice, but an elective c-section is safer than a protracted, risky labour, and would be far more tolerable. I have seen all three and know which I would prefer. I'm not attached to either option enough to go for an 'ideal'. wink.gif

Still, we have to see how tomorrow goes before we get that far.

The bleeding stopped this afternoon, fingers crossed it is over and done with. It has all been old blood, no clots or anything, and never as much flow as a regular period. The scan tomorrow should show if there is much left. I have been fine to work this week as I haven't been on my feet for most of the day and it isn't physically strenuous, so I'm not worried.

Jacapanthus, I'm glad the thyroid is going well.

Twilightangel, we are high and dry where we live, and my access to work and even to the hospital shouldn't be disrupted, as they were accessible last year during the floods and this is not going to be as bad. Hope your creek doesn't get too bad!

Twilight 26
