Anyway, you know what that means.... CD2 of TTC!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif

I wanted to ask a question - do I just keep taking the supps even if I think I'm pregnant? Is there anything wrong with them when preg??? No idea on this one... aqua you might be able to tell me???

Woop Woop!!!! CD2!! well, CD3 today!!

I read that you keep taking the calcium /magnesium until you get a BFP, but you can stop the cranberry each month after O until the beginning of the next cycle. I've just been keeping on taking the supps and will stop after the BFP... well, maybe keep it going a little longer??

Ok gals ... we are in full swing for our BLUE cycle!

Eggy landed Monday, we waited til Tuesday and did it in a good boy position and tried to hold off for as long as possible and I made sure DP had plenty of caffeine during the day too - hahaha ...

Anyway ... I guess now we see if we have been successful for a BFP ...

Yay!!!! Good luck!!!!!

jess869 - welcome!! Charting is a great spot to start original.gif and well done on convincing DH on number 3 wink.gif

Ally04 - O is usually around 14 days before the end of the cycle, but I'd chart just to make sure

I was in Target today and I almost bought a little pink outfit to put under my bed for good luck rolleyes.gif lol. Maybe I should.... hmmmmmm.

I have a tricky question!

My DH and I are about to start TTC.  I sooooo want a girl and DH has always wanted a boy (to pass the family business onto and help out in the yard LOL!!!!).

My dilemma is.... do I do all the things listed to try for a girl, or do I ignore it all and let 'nature take its course' because we both want a different gender?!?

Obviously having done a lot of reading on the subject I know a lot of little tips and tricks to do to sway it towards a girl, but hubby doesn't know any of these because he hasn't read any of it!

Is it fair to do that if we both want a different outcome?!

Obviously we will both be happy either way, as long as its a healthy baby it doesn't really matter original.gif

Allie D What about trying for a LOVE baby, have fun and then out your knowledge to good use for baby #2?

We are BDing every 2nd night until I get AF hoping to diminish DH's sperm, ready for our PINK gender sway next mth....! ALSO we are finishing painting the interior of our house before AF so that I am not surrounded by chemicals.....late nights painting and the Bding......BUGGERED  huh.gif

Ooooo it's about to get very exciting in here with so many people about to TTC for girls and go at it round the clock!!! WooWOOOOOOOOO!!!!!  llove.gif  Hehehe!

Hi Jess!  waves.gif  Welcome! And well done on getting DH to agree to #3 - they sometimes need a little nudge in the right direction. grin.gif Hoping you get your boy!

Yeah Ally and Aqua I think I'll just keep taking the supps - did a bit of googling and it looks safe, I'll just stop when I get a BFP!!! Please Lord let it be this or next month!!!!  hands.gif

And Ally I just used cheapo OPKs off eBay. They worked okay for me and you can buy quite a few at once.

Yay szj!!!!!!! I would get DH to start wearing the tighty whiteys when the cycle starts maybe? I've sent mine off to do some exercise tonight in preparation and will get him to have some nice hot baths too I think, on other nights.

Cheri now you're in the TWW - looking forward to hearing you have a BFP soon!!!!

Allie that is a tricky question! I kind of felt like that with #1... but I just couldn't lie to my DH, and I felt it was by swaying without him knowing. I would just go for it this time round and then see what happens - then you can try swaying for #2 if need be. Perhaps talk to him and just explain how you'd like to sway for the next one, whatever the gender is to check that he's on board for that? If you do have a boy, he may not want to carry on the family business in the end anyway... And you may have a girl who loves nothing more than helping her Dad out in the yard!  biggrin.gif  No judgement btw whatever you decide, just saying what I would do.

So, I'm on last day of AF - helped DH out the night before last, nothing last night, will make sure I help him out again tonight and might start BD properly tomorrow night (after we have our hot date night!!!!). Thinking of christening our new car, as it's a bigger car and we can lie down properly in the back if the seats are down (good position for girl). Will see how daring I feel!!! tongue.gif  (Sorry if TMI!)

Ahhhhhh looking forward to DTD without any protection!!! Oh the freedom!!!!!!  ddance.gif

szj - ooooh, 1 month to go!!! exciting! haha, I'm eating yoghurt for breakfast right now. My hubby always wears tightish undies, so I'm not sure... hmmm, maybe through the TTC cycle?

Allie - that's a tricky question. I don't think I'd do the gender swaying without hubby knowing, but eating some of the girl diet yourself wouldn't hurt?? We both wanted a boy first and didn't do anything to sway, just went for it.

aurora - how was your hot date???? did you have fun in the car!?! biggrin.gif What CD are you up to now? Are you and hubby tired?? lol.

We are at CD 12 today. Eeeek! We've DTD for the last few days, so I'm at the day that I didn't know whether to stop or not... I think we'll DTD again today and then stop. I ovulate in around 3 days, so that should be ok. ARGH!!!

Well i think the Witch is going to come for me tomorrow. Slight spotting when checking cervix today so that sucks! Sucks even more that my LP is getting even shorter FFS, i hope its implation bleed but im not liking my chances. My temp is still high and i dont have any period pain (i usually get it really bad) so Im not gonna bother testing again now ill just wait and see.  cry1.gif

CLM - 9DPO I see....VERY typical of an implantation bleed?!?! Where is your temp at in comparision to your normal "early in the cycle" temp?
I know with my pregnancies, all 5 of them, I have had a temp rise up to 37.00 where usually before ovulation I am 36.3 ish
I am holding hope for you

I read the Shettles book about choosing the sex of your baby and it said to stop 3-4 days out from ovulation and if it doesn't work, to then slowly creep closer to ovulation. Let's see how we go! The 2ww starts very soon!!

Hey lovelies!!!  waves.gif

Hahahaha oh well, our hot date ended in a very annoying way - DH wasn't heaps keen for the car (too worried we would get caught!!!!) and so we went home to relieve the babysitter (my mum!) and I FELL ASLEEP ON THE LOUNGE!!!!!!!  rolleyes.gif  Ha oh dear, I was a bit annoyed! Luckily we'd done it the night before and that would have been an extra one. So, still on track and BD last night, but missed our special date night!

We're at CD 8 now, and planning on stopping at CD 12 as I normally O at CD 16. It's tempting to go a bit closer but I think I really need to stop then. I'll go up to CD 13 next month if this one doesn't happen for us.

Awwwww clm lovely, I hope it's implantation for you!!! So hard in this waiting time hey, you just 2nd guess every little sign.  sad.gif  Can you distract yourself? I think that's what I'll be trying to do!

Haha aqua, not too tired yet! DH is being a real trooper! I think he got a bit of cold feet about a week ago but he's been really supportive since then. Great guy that he is.  wub.gif

Anyone for another question: What pregnancy test will you use and will you test by yourself or with DH/P/etc? If testing by yourself, how will you tell DH/P/etc?

For me, I'd like to use one of those ones that says 'Pregnant/Not pregnant' on them - might try to find them cheaper online? And will probably test with DH - unless I can think of a cool way to let him know I'm pregnant. I think I might be sad if I tested by myself and it was negative though...

Hi Ladies!

aqua.lime- I both loathe and love the tww! I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed for you!

szj- I dont know when to stop DTD either and I am soooo tempted to go closer to ovulation ‘just in case’! i guess we’ll start at 3/4 days out and creep closer too.

aurora sleeping- sorry you missed out on your date night! It’s a great idea.

AF arrived today ( a day late and I was seriously annoyed). so we are at CD1 and I’m sooooo excited! YIPEEEEE. depending on how long AF decides to stay we will start on CD4 (or 6) and do it every second day until 3 or four days out from ‘o’.
DH says he doesn’t want to know all the nitty gritty because he thinks it will be less exciting… i just have to seduce him every second night apparently… lol
As for testing…. I will probably test early by myself because i know i will not be able to wait until AF is due… However, I will do a test with DH at the end of the tww….

I have a bunch of internet cheapies sitting the in cupboard waiting to be used happy.gif so I'll use those until I get a positive and then I'll grab one from the chemist / supermarket to make sure! I'll probably do it by myself and then tell DH biggrin.gif

aurora - sorry to hear about your hot date going not so great, but you've still got lots of time to catch those spermies lol!! not long until you are in the 2ww too!!

Ally04 - thanks! CD1 for you!! woot!! Not long until you can start DTD biggrin.gif

CD13 now for me original.gif

Hi Ladies!  Can I join in?  Used to frequent these forums before joining a-gender almost 2 years ago.

We have been TTC for our first DD, after DS2 who is now 3, for 18 mths with no luck.  A-gender has recently advised all of us existing clients that they cannot offer ongoing support apart from providing best dates for attempting.  Basically I wanted to be able to chat to girls going through same stuff as no-one else understands.

I'm sorry for not doing personal notes for all of you but am sure to follow you from now and comment.

Good luck to everyone   original.gif

Hi wannapinky!!!! Welcome to our group!  waves.gif

It sucks a bit that you've been cut off from your original support but this is a great group in here and you are certainly very welcome to come and chat about your highs and lows with us (without hearing the condescending 'Oh but you should be happy with a healthy baby regardless of gender' crap)! We understand!!!! yyes.gif

Hehe I wanna pinky too!!!  ppinkstork.gif  Sooooooo what strategies are you using??? We have quite a few doing the timing, a few doing the diets and some more doing the supplements. I'm trying position too but sometimes it's a bit boring LOL!  roll2.gif  Did you end up getting dates etc before you left A Gender? I'd be interested to hear what they said! Sucks that it's taking a while for you and I really hope it happens very soon!!!

Dum de dum. CD 10 for me. 3 more nights of BDing and then I'm cutting DH off!!!  laughing2.gif He's not very happy about that! Ah well. The things you do! Hope your hump day is a hump day in more ways than one!!!!  grin.gif

Welcome wannapinky!!!
I too would love to hear the suggestions as to when to stop BDing for a girl, we are TTC a girl, after having 1DD and 3DS's......

I am actually a little puzzled as my "Choose the sex of your baby" book classes my Dh as having a HIGH sperm count, considering we have got 3 boys in a row. SO with that it's suggested we stop with the change of CM, about 5 days before O,.......that's a LONG way out hey??
And I am NOT the most patient person, I hope we are lucky enough though!?!?

#92 vintage.blue

Posted 08 February 2012 - 01:48 PM

Welcome wannapinky! I also have 2 DSs and am trying for a girl original.gif What methods have you been trying so far? What day are you up to in your cycle at the moment?

aurora - hahaha! no humping going on around here on this particular hump day... wink.gif

szj - 5 days out does seem a long way out??? But, no harm in trying that for the first cycle or 2 and then if it doesn't work, slowly creep back in closer. Swayers for girls have to be patient! it's not fair as I'm also not very patient!!! lol

Does anyone else get ovulation pain? I have been each cycle for a while now, but it seems to be a few days before ovulation and last a few days. Everything I read about ovulation pain seems to say that it last up to 48 hours at ovulation. hmmm

Hi Ladies

I dont think im going to sway for a boy anymore im just gonna BD every few days and more around O and hope for the best. Id rather a girl than have to wait forever for a BFP.

Goodluck everyone!

Hi all,
I too am a new member.
I have 2 DS and would love a DD.
I started trying 3 months ago 5 days out from ovulation and having been adding another day closer each month.

I know there are lots of acronyms on here but I have been trying to guess what each one means unsure.gif

Good luck to you all aswell.

There is a thread in this Forum which discusses these HPTs and OPKs in details.

You may already know of it aurora sleeping but thought others could also find it helpful.

Regarding the results, I would tell everyone who is interested if it is a Positive biggrin.gif

BRIE 9 WELCOME!!!!! I was going to start 5 days out too, just seems SUCH a long way out, BUT I have had 3 sons so I know I have to be cautious!!
Can I ask did you fall easily with your boys? I have fallen 1st mth with each pregnancy, I am guessing we are fertile......SO my theory is to creep up closer every mth.
The mth we conceived our last DS we Bded EVERY day from AF finishing till next AF started, and we got a boy (we weren't gender swaying!)

AQUA LIME I get ovulation pain and I have it for about 24hrs, ranging in intensity, about 48hrs prior to ovulation!

bbluestork.gif Dear ladies, in particular aurora sleeping, aqua.lime and szj, thank you for putting your trust in me. Its my 14th day DPO today and it seems we 've got 2 lines on the HPT (First Response). The second line is still faint but I am feeling optimistic ddance.gif  BFP.gif I'll wait a few days then go see my doctors. Hope our swaying is also a success bbluestork.gif

Brie9 - welcome! Ask away if there are some acronyms you aren't sure of original.gif How many days out from ovulation are you stopping now?

szj - ooooh, that's interesting about you saying you have ovulation pains 48 hours out from ovulation..... We stopped DTD on CD12. I had ovulation pains on CD13 & 14 and I think ovulation is CD15 / CD16... so, my timing should be ok???? I stopped 3-4 days out from O.

Alluneedislove - eexcite.gif  eexcite.gif WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! huge congrats!!!!!! What awesome news!!!!

SJZ and Aqua.lime- yes I fell pregnant first time with my boys.I'm up to stopping at 2 days out but last month stopping 3 days out my period was a day late so it was really still only 4 days out. Does that make sense?I did buy a OPK for this month so I'll try that. Just not sure if I should stop when there is a LH surge or after seeing a LH surge.
I'm guessing AF is your period? What is DPO?CD?

HOW EXCITING!!!!! and you are very much SPOT ON!!!!!! with your timing......SO tell me......
are you finding out the sex?
How did you tell Dh the results??  :D   :D    :D   :D   :D
SO SO SO excited for you
xxxxx

aqualime sounds good for your timing, I tells you this getting a girl is A LOT more tricky as it's all up to fate really!!! HOPE it all goes to plan, xxxx

Brie9 I am not too confident in the OPK's (Ovulation Prediction Kits) as the surge can be quite unpredictable and when you do finally get a positive it means O (ovulation) is about 24-48hrs away, that's a BIG window, or small, either way, it's too close for my likings!!
I am using my CM as the main indicator and in the book I have read it suggests the 1st of the change in CM from dry/creamy to wet (not EWCM (Egg White Cervical Mucus)) is the last day of sex
