Well now #4 is on the way, we're back into the fun of finding a name for her. And I'm at a huge loss. There is just nothing I like enough to use, nothing at all sad.gif

DH & I had a lot of trouble finding DD2's name, she wasn't named till she was about a day or so old. We pretty much took in a list and picked the one that we felt was 'right', and it was. Luckily it was my favourite wink.gif

So I'm once again starting early with trying to find some names, and so far I've had no luck sad.gif I've already gone through 2 baby names books (Cool names for babies & Beyond Ava & Aidan), and found nothing. The names we had on our previous list just don't seem to appeal to us as much anymore (more so not to DH than me). So we're basically starting a fresh.

Names I like... I prefer the uncommon, funky & cool names. I don't want unusual/creative spelling, nor do I want common and top 100 names. I'm a fan of celeb baby names, so long as they're not too out there (no Pilot Inspektor, Audio Science or Bluebell Madonna thanks). Unique is ok, so long as it's not too weird.

I would also like to steer clear of names starting with 'M' & 'N', as well as names that end with an ee/e/y/ie (more so if it's a boys name), and a/er/or/ar etc sound at the end. I just want a name that sounds different to the names of my kids. Though I'm happy for you to suggest them anyway.

My kids names are Neve, Marley & Mila (pronounced Me-La), so would love some names that you think would complete & compliment them well. One that sounds just as awesome as they do wink.gif

Oh, and I'm after Girls names. Whatever you have, throw at me! Hopefully I'll get some I haven't heard of, nor considered.

Any & all help will be much appreciated biggrin.gif

Thanks so much!

ps, apologies for the long post.

For girls I love Cleo, Leni and Edie.
For boys I like Arlo, Bede and Raff.
Good luck - I'd love to know what you come up with.

Thanks so much everyone for all your replies, so many great names! A lot of which I had on my list for DD2.

I started reading your lists out to the husband, but saw he wasn't interested so stopped. Men are so difficult when it comes to names wacko.gif

Thankyou Zara, I'm liking these from your list;
Arlo, Jude, Alfie, Wolf, & Sawyer.
Cleo, Asha & Luna.

Beends, I'm liking Sullivan from your list, Sully would be a cute NN! Loving your boys names too, congrats on your newest arrival wub.gif

HolyGrail, thanks. Cosmo, Lennox & Luna stand out to me the most.

la di dah, I really like Wolf, but not sure I'm brave enough to use it...

Thanks Upsy & Aliyah's mum biggrin.gif

Ohhh thanks for replying, I always appreciate your input wink.gif I really like the above names, Ranger is cool, but I think it might be in the "not brave enough to use" category...
You know what I do like at the moment though.... Monroe.... Ever since Mariah Carey had her twins, I've grown to like it wub.gif Not sure the hubby agrees though sad.gif

Not that it really matters but its my brother's MN (it was a family name, our great-granddad was a Wolf) and he has always loved it. Like, he hasn't always been unconflicted about his first name, but he's always liked Wolf. He's in his 20s but it seemed to work at every stage.

I admit its a bit more to carry as a FN. But I like it.

#22 Monroe

Monroe is an awesome name.. I said to DH last week we should have named M that instead wink.gif of course, what did he say? Oh that would have suited her well... Eh.

#23 Maple Leaf

Posted 01 January 2012 - 01:25 PM

If I went for a 3rd (which I most definitely am not!)...my very small short list would be :

Dashiel (or Dashiell) for a boy.

Sebina or Keziah for a girl (both family names from generations ago, but I was drawn to them).

And that's all I've got. It was hard enough finding Alira and Niah for my first 2. lol.

best of luck!

It certainly is. I'd be rather inclined to use it if I wanted to avoid names starting with M sad.gif Even though the hubby would say no *sigh*.

ladidah, yeah it is a bit to carry as a FN. Hehe, that reads funny with you saying your great grandad was a wolf...

Maple leaf, I remember you suggesting your DD's names when I was pregnant with DD2. They are such beautiful names! Not a fan of Dashiell, but Dash is cool. But with DS being a big Thomas fan all I think of is the train, lol.
