Hello,

We are aware that since the membership changeover, some members are having troubles sending pm's. If you are having trouble can I ask you to please try this

QUOTE
Go to My Controls (under your username on the left of the screen)

Under the Menu (second column on the left) look for the Options subheading and click on Board Settings.

In the Control Panel, look for this bit ...

"Type of text editor to use when posting"

If it is set to Rich Text Editor, change it to Standard Editor (or vice versa).

That should solve the problem for you.

Please let one of us know if this doesn't help

Bumped as a few members are still having this problem and are likely unaware of this thread.

Hi,

That doesn't help.

Getting an error:
"The following errors were found

You must enter a message larger than 3 characters.

This personal message has not been sent"

After writing an essay...

TIA.

Could I get you to try it one more time please LifeGoesOn.  It has taken a couple of tries for some members.

Let us know if it doesn't help original.gif

Tried again twice, set back to Rich Text, saved changes, composed message and it gave me the same error as stated above.
Repeated it but set it back to Standard Text, still gave me that error.
Will try again a little later.
Thanks.

We do apologise for these pm issues.

Can I ask you to just change it over one more time please.(so from standard to rich or rich to standard(

I know I sound like a broken record original.gif  Then you can test it out by sending me a pm if you like, and I will be able to see if it works.

Hi Therese I tried the changes again but it makes no difference it seems that I can respond to pm's that I have received previously in my inbox but am unable to create new ones to people that I haven't received a pm from.

I am having the opposite problem, I can not received pm's. It will come up saying I have a new message, when I check it all it shows is a quote from a previous conversation I have had with the sender.

Will the above steps work to correct this as well?

Hello,

No it won't fix that.  It means that the person sending the pm needs to change their settings.  If you want to pm me their name, I will let them know original.gif

Hello,

Can I ask you to check in a different browser as that worked for someone else and let me know how you go.

We do apologise for this.

I am sorry that what normally works isn't working sad.gif  I have checked from my end and it looks like it should be.

I know I sound like I am repeating myself but could you please switch it back to the other type again (so either rich text if it's standard or standard if it is rich) and then try again.

Thanks for your patience.

I'm having the same problem, but when I follow the instructions you gave, I don't seem to have 'board settings' as one of the Option options . . . if that makes sense.

Hi,

Can I just check that you are looking on the left hand side of your screen and just below where you can see your member name ?

There should be your member name and then underneath it after the option to be visible or hidden,  something that says my controls ?
