Ok, so I'm 7 weeks in and it's time I officially adopt a cute 'Dad only' nickname for my daughter.... you know the type of nickname that old time 'cool' hollywood characters might have called their daughters, back before Michael Bay got his dirty hack mits on the movie industry!

Honestly, I'm leaning toward 'Kiddo'... a bit tomboyish maybe but it has the right tone. Having said that I'm very open to suggestions, so fire away original.gif

hahahaha - Michael Bay's mitts.. gold

Somehow or other I landed on Bunny Rabbit for my daughter.  My boy though, ended up with the always unimaginative mate.  Sometimes its Maaaaaaaate, other times a very shrill MATE!

Im sure for the past 6 months he thinks his name is

'beeeee caaaareful MATE!'

My son got squirt in the dirt or just squirt for a long time (still gets it sometimes), but mostly it's mate or boy now... lol... unimaginative I know...

The new one, which is still cooking until Boxing Day (good planning or what lol)... it's possum so far... it might stick...

For as long as I can remember my Dad has always called me Alice.  Don't really even know why.  It's not my name and it's nothing even like my name but I like it and only he calls me that...no one else.

A friend of mine when she was pregnant use to refer to the unborn baby as Bumpy, they both did.  I thought it was cute.

My Dad always did and sometimes still does call me possum. My husband calls our daughter (Chloe) all sorts of funny names depending on what she's doing. Sometimes it's Chlo the bo or Doey. sometimes it's just straight up butt head!!
Our sons (Liam & Haden) get Bum (not sure how he got this one but it has stuck since he was a baby) and H-a-Messy.
I think the Dad-Child nick name thing is really cute!!

DH has some cute names for our girls.

DD1 is Bubba Sweetie.  He calls her this so often, that she will tell you her name is "Katherine Ann Bubba Sweetie <lastname>."   biggrin.gif   If I call her it, she says "no mummy, I'm not your Bubba Sweetie, I'm only Daddy's Bubba Sweetie."

DD2 gets Monster from DH, Ellie Bubba (said like Ali Baba) from me.

My own mum and dad both use the name nickname for me, a shortened version of my name.

My old man called me everything under the sun but my real name

I was most often Sport, Henry, Jack and Tiger

Perhaps, however, Tiger should be taken off the list of modern-dad nick names though?

My dad always called me Grub, mainly because I was one original.gif  When I was a preschool teacher, if one particular boy wouldn't respond to his real name we were told to try calling him "Josè" to which he would respond.  He had heard the phrase "No way Josè" so many times from his folks, he assumed that was his name!

Likewise.  I reckon mine doesn't even know my real name... Kiddo was a common one, but we were squiddley and diddley, I'm still Squid now we're grown up.

My cousins got heckle and jeckle, so could be worse.
