Hi

My partner and I have been TTC for 18 months and are currently undertaking our first Clomid cycle.  I was diagnosed with PCOS in October last year after I skipped a period and went to the GP hoping that I might have been pregnant.  Unfortunately not.  I waited 6 months on a public waiting list to see a specialist and got sick of waiting, so got a referral to a private doctor and got in to see him straight away.  Of course, the day after I saw him I got a call from the public clinic offering me an appointment!  Never mind.

I have started taking Clomid this cycle with the hope that it might help - my partner had a sperm analysis and he is fine.  I have had 50mg each day for days 5-9 (today is day 9) and I have an appointment with my doctor on Wednesday to see how it has gone.  Of course we are hoping for a BFP but have no idea how likely that is on the first cycle.  Reassure me that it is possible!

Good luck everyone!

Hi there my clomid is not going so well.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in April after having a missed miscarriage in December and a D&C 3 days before christmas. I never really got my AF back and was pushing my OB for a diagnosis. After his findings I wasnt totally happy so found an FS and he did one more month of testing and then we went from there.

I am now on my second round of clomid. First round was 50mg and a complete waste of time. Hardly any side effects and we are pretty sure I didnt ovulate. I am now on cd 20 of my second round 100mg and we are not sure if I have o'd or not. I have my cd 21 blood test tomorrow. I have my bodies signs that I have o'd but that really doesnt mean much. I also had two positive opks but had a postive opk last month as well.

Because of this my dr has agreed to start fully monitored cycles from next cycle. So if this one is a bust starting next cycle it will be completely monitored and I will probably O due to being able to have a trigger shot if needed.

I dont have much faith in clomid now and believe I will probably need the FSH injections & a trigger shot.

My dh is completely fine and perfect its just me and my stupid PCOS.

The FS is a bit shocked as I got pregnant on our first month of trying in what he calls a "spontaneous cycle" after coming off the pill for 17 years and now clomid isnt working.....

Well I had an ultrasound on Wednesday, which was CD11, and my 50mg cycle of Clomid seems to have done nothing at all.  I have to go back next Wednesday for another ultrasound (CD18) to see if perhaps my body was just taking a bit longer to react to it than he thought it would.  If it doesn't do anything, then the doctor will up the dosage next month.  I did know that this will take a while but its a bit disappointing anyway.

Does any body post in here still?

I am 26 and trying to have my second child.
We had no problems getting pregnant first time, but I have since been diagnosed with PCOS, after I saw a Dr for problems losing weight and messed around periods.
He sent me to an endocrinologist, who diagnosed the PCOS.

Anyway, my husband and I have been trying for about 18 months now, I was sent to a fertility doctor 2 months ago and she did all the blood tests and showed I am not ovulating each month. My husbands sperm test was perfectly fine. I have been taking metformin since I saw the endocrinologist and it seems to have helped bring back my cycles, with them being about 30-34 days now.

I have gotten for first script for clomid and am to take it from day 3-7. Today is day 3 and I am so nervous about starting it tonight.
I wont be having any ultrasounds this month, the dr is just sending me for blood tests to check if I am ovulating.
I will be doing temperatures and ovulation tests as well.

Hope there are other ladies around who still read this...

WELL IV DECIDED TO SKIP CLOMID THIS MONTH. NEED A BREAK. BUT M GUNA START 150 OF CLOMID NXT CYCLE. AND POSSIBLY IUI. HOPEFULLY THIS COMBO WILL WORK. I HOPE WE R CLOSE TO FIGURING OUT WAT IS MISSING ND HOW TO FIX IT.
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL..
What iv learned about the 21 dsy blood test is that its to detect if u ovulated on CD14, which is the usual day to ovulate. But if your like me and takes longer to O this test does not work on CD 21 but mayb CD26-28..  It might be best to get them ovulation predictor tests and use them from CD10-CD19.  But if u can get an ultrasound done from CD-14 may help better to detect follies and size.

Hi everyone - well I too was diagnosed with PCOS about 4 months ago, started on clomid last month - nothing. Second round of 100mg this month - and it would seem it worked ! Just done a test this minute, and it came up positive. Not getting too excited yet as it's early days, but that's now 18 months plus we've been trying.

Looking forward to telling DH when he gets home from work.

I had my ultrasound yesterday to find 2 maturing eggs!!!  2!!!!  possible chance of twins! OMG  But I'm crossing my fingers that things fall into place this month!   I would also like to know if anyone has or knows someone who has fallen pregnant of the first cycle?

Its such a stressful time!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

We had tried for about 18 months, no luck at all. Then, from December, my period started getting worse and worse - lasting as long as 4 weeks at a time. Was referred to OB/GYN, who did a hysteroscopy and D&C to try and clear the issues up. He ran blood tests a few times, and didn't find any evidence of ovulation.

Crazy periods settled down a bit (11 days was still a bit insane from my pov), and in June the doctor put me on clomid for the 5-10 days cycle.

I was supposed to get a blood test for ovulation checking done later in that month, then head back to see him at the start of my next period to have the amount of clomid adjusted.

Unfortunately, I still had another 12 day period, and I was so busy with work I did not get a blood test done in the window the doctor had guessed I was supposed to be ovulating.

So, I waited for my period again...and waited....and finally when it was 11 days after the latest date I thought it might have started, I did a home pregnancy test. Clearly I HAD ovulated, since that came up well and truly positive original.gif)

I feel so lucky, my partner and I want this baby so much, and after a relatively short set of issues, we are now well and truly on our way to becoming mum and dad - 16 weeks and a few days pregnant at the moment!

BTW I am 37, and I also had some existing issues with high blood pressure, so I was taking medicine for that as well as taking Elevit.

I am definitely, luckily, thankfully a person for whom Clomid worked first time.

Good luck to everyone else smile1.gif

Beep - I hope things go well for you this month too.  Do you have to have the cysts removed?  When and how do they go about that?  Hopefully once that is resolved things will take a postitive spin for you.  Fingers crossed!

Hi Hoping4bubs-I thought the same thing re:quiet forum...but then again I havent posted anything!

I am currently on my 7th day of provera to bring my period on and will then start on my third round of clomid (at 100mg this time-previous two were 50mg with no ovulation). I am hoping third time lucky! Surely some luck would be great as we come up to our 15th month of TTC.

Best of luck to all!!!

I need ur help PLEASE XXX
Starting my first Clomid cycle this month. AF started yesterday well so I though, bad cramps bad enough to have to take pain relief BUT no bleeding, only a little when I wipe. Have woken up today still no bleeding. Is this cycle wasted? Do I count any of these days as CD1? Very confusing
