We have already picked out the name Lily for a girl but are still having trouble with boys names. One name we both like though is Riley. If we do have a girl at some stage, her name will definately be Lily. Will it be too similiar to have a boy called Riley and then name our daughter Lily?

WDYT?

They are a bit similar, but not enough to worry about, especially if you love them both.   original.gif

I think they are too close for siblings BUT I think twins are often named similar names so you can get away with it.

She's not having twins ~Meand3~, she is still TTC.

Thanks for your replies. Yes, we're TTC at the moment. We're hoping to get our BFP soon original.gif

I guess I was just worried about them both having the lee sound at the end. My DH thinks they are fine together.

Any suggestions for middle names for Riley?

If you love the names use them!  My DS2 and DD are Riley and Lily - and we have a surname with lots of Ls but who cares!  We loved the names so that was all that matters original.gif

I have a friend with a cat called Lily (short for Lillian) and a dog called Riley. (Not trying to be rude because they are definitely "people names" not pet names anyway.)

I actually think the two sound fine together, and when she calls to them it doesn't sound weird at all. original.gif

If you love it, go for it!
