Child Car Seat Evaluation and Testing Website>

Child Car Seats is an initiative of the Child Restraint Evaluation Program (CREP), a consortium of government agencies and motorist organisations who share a common interest in improving safety for children travelling in vehicles. CREP aims to provide consumers with information to help choose and use safe child car seats and to apply commercial and public consumer pressure on car seat manufacturers to only market seats that perform well beyond the requirements of the Australian Standard. CREP also provides feedback to the Australian Standard Committee on child car seats, to help improve the Standard.

CREP provides consumers with independent and consistent information on the levels of child protection from injury in a crash provided by child car seats and the ease with which they can be used correctly.
CREP is a partnership between:
  • Transport for NSW (TfNSW)
  • NRMA Motoring & Services
  • Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV)
  • Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
  • Royal Automobile Club of WA (RACWA) and
  • VicRoads.
The CREP website contains comprehensive information on car restraints, the dimensions of each rated seat are included as is a photo and details from testing.

For your interest, past threads discussing star rated seats from previous years, including dimensions, can be found here and here.

If you have a question you would like to put to other members regarding CREP testing or width of seats please post a new topic in the forum as your question will likely be missed by most members if posted in this pinned thread.

All the best,

lucky 2

Just some nquick measurements I have taken from our Infa Exceed:
The top shoulder slot is - 45cms
Seat to the base of head rest - 40cms
Internal seat width - 31cms
External seat width at top of seat (widest point) - 48cms
External seat width at arm rests - 45cms
External seat width at front of base of the seat - 41cms

All measurements are with the seat fabric in place but pushed in, so mainly of the actual seat shell if you wanted to know how wide it was with the fabric not squished in I would add about 1 cm to each measurement.
Hope that helps original.gif

Height marked seats (currently available seats) are found in the 2012 tab.

Weight based seats are in the prior to 2012 results.

Note many seats have the same name but have changed design between the weight based and height based seats. Height based are 2010 standard, weight based 2004 standard.
