Just a very quick post from me to say sorry i have been MIA (not that it matters really)
Things have been hell here the past couple of weeks. Monique has gone right back to being like a baby. She has been toileted trained for a year now properly and now she is pooing and weeing in undies. She is now back in nappies (bad move - not sure) and not interested in using the toilet at all - she knows when she needs to go and has a sook but will not take herself off to the toilet. She is hitting out at Chantlle, pushing, shoving, hitting her with toys and ramming the bike into her, slams the door on her etc. She is not sleeping at all during the day anymore so turns into this horrid sh*t in the arvo.
Am at my wits end what to do with her. One of those weeks where I wish she was not mine.
Anyway, not sure how often I will be on. Trying hard to keep it together.
Sorry, have not read the past thread at all so not sure what is happening.
have to go and finish lunch and finish feeding Hamish

Des aaah the early newborn days! that sounds like very challenging behaviour and I know that feeling of sinking instead of swimming but my only advice is none it will pass just keep swimming,Sending my love!
Reb you are far too proper for me! LOL Hope yous get better! No really I think it is great you aren't worried, worrying certainly never helped anyone also sending my love!

So annoyed, i had a lovely long response typed to you Des, and then walked away and Byron has hit a key and its gone. Ill try again. It must be really hard atm. It will get easier, but these first few months are bound to be hard. She is reacting to the new baby, and not getting as much attention? Are you able to give her some one on one? Can your parents come over and stay with the others and you take her somewhere special? So she has your undevided attention? For the toilet training, i have no experience, but i would not make a big deal about it. Just put her in nappies, tell her why your putting her in nappies, and she will grow out of it again. If she does go to the toilet make sure you make some fuss, lots of positive praise. Thinking of you.
Reb - thats a little nerving!! Thats the best way to be though not getting worried if you dont need to! Hope you have a lovely time with your sister. Im so good at putting my foot in my mouth to! I have a big mouth!! Sometimes it takes an event like your sister went through to evaluate and look at a relationship in a new light. Are they good together?
Im looking at adding birth photography to the business. If anyone knows of anyone who would be intersted in this, Id love you to recommend me. I will need someone first who would be willing for me to use their images (all respectfull of course) on some of my website. In return I wouldnt charge them. Just keep it in mind WA'ers please

Des- Please tell me what I can do to help. I am more than happy to do any or all of the following or something else: come and take one or all children for an afternoon so you can sleep, come to you and watch them while you sleep, You can drop them here and go sleep, meet you at a playcentre and you go home and sleep/rest/clean. Come help you clean. Come help you strangle them. I am definately smsing you this as well but I have bugger all credit left so may have to call you back if you don't say "come get them NOW!"

Alinta, I have sent a msg to my cousin, she is due at the end of the month I think, she lives near you too.
Posted 09 October 2009 - 03:23 PM
Des I have just txtd you
Nobody has replied to me in the home thread so I'll try here too. Earlier Caelan weed on the leather lounge No biggy re the cushion part but it was a huge wee & it's run down the back and soaked into the main frame of the lounge. I soaked most of it up with barely damp washers but what should I do next? Little booger has been so freakin appalling with TT regression over the last month or so I'm at my wits end. So I can definately empathise with poor Des, she must be wanting to tear her hair out because I'm nearly at that stage. I'm thinking of putting him back into nappies too because I'm clearly not up to the stress atm, I reacted rather shamefully to the lounge situation and was almost at the point of hurting him I was in such a rage. He certainly copped an earful of screamed obsceneties but I managed to stop myself at one mid strength smack. Something I haven't done for months and I'm not happy I felt compelled to do it today
Posted 09 October 2009 - 04:41 PM
Des: Thinking of you. Lateesha went through the same sorta thing when K was born & i know it's hard but i just tryed to focus some more attention on her too. Like when K was sleeping have paint time or craft or movie with just me & her. With the TT i wouldn't worry to much am sure she will be out of nappies again before too long. Big hugs. Take all the help you can get & never be too proud to ask .
Megan: No help with the lounge sorry. But i agree you don't need the added stress, with what's happened, moving etc. If you need to put him back in nappies for a bit it is not a huge deal, he will do it again when he is ready.

Guys help me convince Des to let me help.
Megan- Oh what a pain. I am no help but am cranky for you.
Reb- Keep us updated please. Very scary.
Laura- That's a bit special.
Celia- THIS WEEKEND: I'm hoping to steal Des' kids at some point, even for a couple hours. There was talk of a picnic with my Mum and as usual we will go to my Grandma's on Sunday afternoon for coffee so my kids can play with their cousins. I was also hoping to go to the zoo, but don't know whether that will pan out. Can you tell we finally have some warmer weather? It's supposed to be 20-22 this weekend.

She isn't letting you help ?
Des, I would have fallen over myself for help in those early days, you need to learn to say yes, it can only be good for all of you.
There has been a lot of bad news in Perth this week, making me sad. I also saw a friend of mine whom I hadn't been in contact with since March as her son had changed schools, I felt guilty already that I hadn't called her. She was gaunt and wrinkled and looked like she had a serious illness. Turns out she had been in hosptial, and had seperated from her husband who is now trying to cut off her money supply. Kids school fees are $16k a year each. She said her son might be forced back to our school (which Lachlan would be over the moon about).
I feel so sad for her. I am catching up with her next week but I can't help but feel I have been a very crappy friend.
Posted 09 October 2009 - 04:58 PM
Sel I sent her a text already but I'll send another telling her to do as she's told and not be a naughty girl OK?
Posted 09 October 2009 - 05:05 PM
OK, just sent another txt. Not saying she's naughty, you know what I meant right?

Had to go to the doctor down there because I had an allergic reaction to the ABs. My first ever. Stupid things.
She also took one listen to my lungs and put me on steroids, half an hour after taking one of those I was breathing again, I didn't realise how bad it was until I could finally take a half full breath for the first time in 10 days.
All still coughing badly, DS and my AB courses have just about finished and my ears are still blocked so I've already made another doctors appointment on Monday for both of us to get checked. Along with the after hours GP on Sunday I've spent around $3-400 on doctors and drugs in the last month.
It was worth it to go though, mum was wonderful, I had the odd sleep in and the kids had a great time even though we were sick.
I'll be back later properly when I get rid of this fog but I just wanted to come in and give Megan a big, smooshy, overly personal kiss complete with bad touching. You are sounding like you're on the edge of control right now, you're doing very well just don't flagellate yourself when you slip over. It's just amazing you're not slipping more often you strong, powerful woman you.
Des, do as you're told!!

a big, smooshy, overly personal kiss complete with bad touchingOooooh! What are these drugs you're on? Mental note to self to get you a long term supply Thanks, I'm feeling alot better now. We had a big cuddle & make up session before he went for his nap and I'm feeling less like tipping over the edge.

Megan vinegar, in a spray bottle, spray all around the area, over wet it as much as possible, it will neutralise the ammonia smell.
I always have some citric acid on hand too to sprinkle over carpet wee accidents which does the same thing as I start to blot up the accident then use added water to dilute then use salt with more citric acid until it is dry and vacuum up. Too many years cleaning up wee
Codex to you too.

Ahh, Friday night. Not that it means the same as it did once ...
We're watcing Goldeneye, which I don't think I've ever seen, but know it well anyway -- DH used to play the Goldeneye Nintendo 64 game with his housemates before we moved in together many years ago (TBH afterwards as well ). So we're playing spot the scene (funnily enough none of the snogging moments are in the game ... what's with that??).
Not sure what the weekend holds yet, might go to the farmer's market in the morning, and I would really love to get some new shoes. It's going to be nice weather, need to make the most of it before the rainy weather sets in again next week.
We've worked out that my parents' dog, who has been peeing on things regularly, seems to lift his leg on things at two times -- in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning. Lazy sh*t. He seems to be fine during the day. So we are going to try forcing him outside before bed and also putting him straight out in the morning. Rotten dog
My pelvis is feeling a bit better, wearing the brace thing is definitely helping. I think I'm moving into the phase of getting up multiple times to pee at night though, which is not so good. Sigh. 2 and a bit months to go.
Codex -- you look after yourself, you hear??
Laura -- will check the B & N website for the prologue of the latest WoT book, thanks for the info! I guess it's inevitable that it will read differently to RJ's books, but I guess I can live with that if it is a good read. Better than not getting the end of the story anyway! What else are you reading atm or haven't you got time? Oh and cool about the software, more than makes up for the extra workload on the conference program!
Megan -- hope you are slowly starting to feel better -- physically at least. Don't worry about losing it, it's going to happen occasionally and C won't hold it against you I promise.
Des -- keep swimming chicky, it'll get better soon, really! And take up Sel's offer of some help please! How's the boy going anyway??
Mel -- don't feel guilty about your friend, I'm sure she understands you've been busy! And it's not like she's been reaching out to you and you've been ignoring her after all.
Alinta -- hope you're getting some better nights. Only a couple of weeks until you've finished, how exciting! And good luck to G with quitting the ciggies! It's a hard thing to do, I witnessed my parents try and partially succeed for many years before they finally did it.
Rebby -- hmm, sounds odd, those blood results do. Hope the specialist can come up with answers for you.
Hmm, that's all I have energy for tonight, will no doubt be back over the weekend at least once.
Posted 10 October 2009 - 12:43 AM
Ooh, Alinta, way to lure out the pregnant lurker... Would definitely be interested in the birth photography - I guess it's one of those things, with so many variables re dates, timing, length of labour etc, but since I'm planning on delivering at Glengary (Duncraig) it's a fair distance for you so I don't know if that would be a problem. I had actually only been showing DH your website recently after sighing over all the photos and said that I'd like to do the preg and/or baby package, but thought I might have left it too late notice now, because I know how busy you are and have been - I'll be down late Oct and due late Nov? I'll get in touch with you via pm or email over the next day or so anyway.
Des, to you, what a rough patch - I agree with the others though, you really should accept the offer of help! (Thanks Sel!)
Codex, hope you're all a bit better by the time Mon's appt comes around, you must've been feeling terrible to get to the point of needing steroids, glad that's given some relief so far for the lungs, hope you get the ears sorted out asap - at least you were able to get a rest being down at your mum's too.
Completely understandable your reaction to the wee on the lounge Megan, with everything going on for you - you must be physically and emotionally drained right now - Mulan has the right idea with treating the lounge to actually draw the wee out and neutralise it - I also use the small bottle of Nilodour for things like that too - a drop or two on any lingering smells on lounges/beds/bean bags etc. Thinking of you xo
Reb - hope the specialist has some answers for you, must be the nurse in you to be dealing with it all in such a matter of fact and sensible way - was only reading your fb status the other night, thinking how amazing you are to be juggling shift work, single parenting and dealing with your ex - well done to you!
Liss - that's me, up multiple times a night to wee... luckily been otherwise fairly well and comfortable, though starting to feel it a bit now, esp with the heat up here. Was hoping to see the midwife before going back to work, just to get BP checked etc, but she was off sick with the flu this week. I read that you got the swine flu shot? They're offering that here next week and I can't decide what to do about it - thought I might do some reading/googling, but that might not be much help!
Mel - I can understand you feel bad, but we all have friends who we are not always in close/frequent contact with or we move away from, so you weren't to know what was going on - now that you have seen her again and she's opened up to you, you're straight away making the time and effort to support her, that's what's important and I'm sure she recognises that. Checked out your blog for the first time the other week after that other thread came up about travelling US with a toddler... you are incredible, I find it hard to comprehend the scope of planning, organising and doing such a trip as a 'large family'- I think it's really special that you make a point of doing some pretty serious family travel every year (not just your average Bonnie Doon type trip!) - what memories the kids are going to have!
Hi to everyone else! Well the holidays are almost over. Only have two weeks of work left then, before flying down to Perth until baby's born. DH will follow (drive down) a few weeks after me. I wasn't particularly looking forward to it, but now I'm ready. Spent most of the hols doing school work and getting sorted for finishing up/hand over - I think a bit of misplaced 'nesting' since I seemed to devote a crazy amount of unnecessary energy to some work things which I just couldn't seem to let go of. Otherwise, we are all well and happy here. Will pop in again soon.

Hey Jules, good to see you! Glad to hear all is going well. Not long to go now! Have you got any names picked out?
Des isn't answering her mobile. If she keeps ignoring it I will just go pick her kids up and steal them.
Liss- Ugh I hate Bond. How can you watch that? I hope you find some gorgeous shoes at a ridiculously cheap price! Have fun at the market.
Codex- Keep taking the drugs you gorgeous thing you. I really hope you are feeling better soon.

I've been lurking a little bit, from my phone and from Chenoa's, so I'm a bit confused about where I'm up to with personals and where I've just thought personals..
Reb - I hope you're okay, I'm trusting your judgement too or else I'd be quite stressed about it.
Megan - I'm thinking of you a lot'. I'm not going to say go easy on Caelan either, because I am sick up to the eyeballs of áccidents'' myself (WTF is up with Karri's computer and all those little ''''s??!) and 'm not dealing with what you are
Des - ACCEPT HELP. And put Monique in nappies if she'll let you, just one less stress you don't need with a newborn. She won't be in nappies forever, in fact with Chantelle right behind her there's no way she'll want to stay in nappies by the time C toilet trains.
Alint - I loved your photos from your birth, I can see why you are inspired to add that element to your photography business. I know you'll make the women feel 100% comfortable with you too, because that's just who you are.
Jules - Yes, I want to know names too. 'Those WAers will have to think of aother way to bribe you back to fill us in
Codex - I'm sorry you're not on the mend yet How are the kids?
Mel - That is so sad for her. Don't feel bad about not being in contact earlier, you have been kind of busy yourself, and maybe you seeing her the other day was meant to be because it was the right time for her as well?
I'm tired and slightly hungover. We had the 21st last night, and it was flucking freezing! I was standing next to one of the fire barrels and a log fell out and set my leg on fire It's not really funny, but luckily it was early in the night when I was drinking a few (I was driving so only had a few early). Stayed at Karri's because she was looking after the youngest 2 kids, it's pretty easy going here compared with the IL's place and I bet they are thinking the same thing now! We are supposed to be having a picnic in the park for lunch, but the wind is still freezing. Where oh where is the warm weather?!
Posted 10 October 2009 - 09:37 AM
Mandy How is your leg?????
Not much happening here, going out tonight and have a babysitter booked so that should be good once we are there but a bit to do first..... really feel like watching a movie tomorrow but dh has to work I think and Bathurst is on....so we'll see.
Billys birthday is Tuesday so we are having family over for tea and cake, would love to get into town to buy an iron on number one for the back of his bond suit so he can still wear his jammies AND be ultra cute for photos! I think I might just do that!

My sister is 21 today, wow. Am about to hit the shops to find her a gift, anyone have any ideas? Probably not jewellery as I bought her a bracelet last birthday. Have a budget of $100ish. Hit me with ideas
Posted 10 October 2009 - 12:13 PM
My sister is 18 in a couple of weeks and I'm thinking expensive sunnies, Nice bra and undies pretty pink glass engraved to use on the night.
A personalised t-shirt take in a shirt to a graphic artist and get her name e.t.c big 21 on the back ?
Actually thats not a bad idea for me.
Depends on the girl you could dress up a pressy with a girly fake tiara to wear on the evening.
Made tea and babysitters bed, folded sheets and decided I would go to town I am on a roll, Did I tell you girls I got new blinds? Roman ones for my lounge and dining room I am very happy.
Oh and last night I slept uninterrupted until 6:30!! woo hoo no wet beds,no bad dreams, achy legs or crying babies yay!l
Posted 10 October 2009 - 12:16 PM
Is she into keepsakes or experiences Reb? I'd possibly rethink the no jewellery, it's something she can use & always keep. Maybe some earrings? That's just me though, I love jewellery (in Lu's words - magicals )
Mandy that's terrible about your leg but I have to shamefacedly admit that the image (minus the pain factor) actually made me laugh. I'm really a horrible person sometimes
