I spent last Saturday getting fire ready, only a change in winds stood between the fires and us. It was incredibly scary €trying to explain to our little ones why we were filling up the baths, packing bags, getting the fire extinguishers ready€. we were very lucky! I couldn€™t begin to imagine what those closer to the fires went through. I dread to think.
The lessons learnt from the weekend bring home the message, just how important it is not to take time for granted! Please if you don't do this already, make the time to let your family know just how much you love them. We should never wait for a €˜hallmark€™ moment to give that hug, cuddle or kiss, or say €˜I love you€™. It puts a lot of the economic woes into perspective; at the end of the day you just never know what's around the corner.
No amount of money can buy back time, so may sure you do something special this weekend with your family, and enjoy each other's company. Life is just far too precious.
For all those affected by the fires - you are in my thoughts and prays. To all those who have helped those affected by the fires, the CFA, fire fighters and volunteers "good on you!, You are true hero's"
