I was just watching old reruns of A Country Practice on Austar when DH walked in.

He told me that 'Bob' AKA Gordon Piper turned out to be a peadophile!  ohmy.gif

Did he?

Is that right!!!

Oh, and what CRAPPY acting was on that show... laughing2.gif

I remember Bob and Cookie  laughing2.gif

Yep I heard that too.

Is he still alive? I feel sorry for him if he was innocent but if he wasn't then ...  mad.gif

Edited because I've read that he had died.

It's on Hallmark every day at 3.30pm and 4.30pm. I have to fight the kids and DH though to get to watch it...it's like a stroll down memory lane...

I'll be setting DH straight..

Just because he was found 'not gulity' doesn't mean it didn't happen though!

But glad you got some kicks for a moment.

What 'kicks' could one possibly get? There was no need to get so defensive, I was merely stating a fact that just because someone is found not guilty, it doesn't mean that it did not happen. Do you think O J Simpson is innocent?

There were no jokes in what I said. There is always more than one side to a story.

I felt really sorry for him during the trial, it is scary how these untrue claims can go so far.
In the end I would say what he went through definitely shortened his life.

He actually died September 2004 ... (I looked it up on imdb.com)

Now we know he has passed away, is it right to speak of the dead like this???

I remember being blown away by the abuse claims when they came about - as I had "grown up" for 5 or so years with the cast of ACP  filming in our school grounds on a very regular basis. "BOB" was always a lovely man - nothing creepy etc.

But then again it was a very highly "chaperoned" situation.

I could never reconcile my mind one way or the other TBH. As we all unfortunately find out as adults (or sometimes younger  sad.gif ) - just because someone presents well, doesn't mean they are necessarily innocent or vice versa.

From memory he ended up losing both his legs and being wheelchair bound by the time the trial happened.

I'm a stay-at-home mum who's an awful housewife

"Hey, come here a second," my mum said as she replaced the book in my hands with a wooden spoon covered in what I prayed was red sauce. Together, we walked into the kitchen and hovered over the skillet like we were peering into a crystal ball. Looking into my future, I saw me eating a lot of take away.
