My DH gave me a rose gold necklace when we were dating and both times I've been prgenant my neck has become red from ezcema.  Do you think it's related - I can wear my gold rings and earings without a problem.  Any suggestions (I did suggest he buy me a gold necklace for Mother's day)

It hasn't happenend to me but a friend found that she couldn't wear any of her gold jewelry when she was pregnant because she got a skin reaction that sounds similar to yours.

She didn't find anything that helped though except not wearing the jewelry. So sorry that I can't be much help!   Hope it gets better. original.gif

Ahem, this was a solution in a Trixie Belden book I read when I was about 10.  It was to paint the jewellry with clear nail varnish.  Can't vouch for it working but I still remember it to this day original.gif

I haven't been able to wear my engagement or wedding ring since I was first pregnant (1995). I get ezema within 30 minutes of wearing them.  Unfortunately it has not got away.  I have tried painting them with clear finger nail polish but did not work.  They now live in my jewellery box, every now and then I will try to wear them, but with no luck.

If it isn't 24K gold then it is mixed with other metals to get 18k, 9k, white gold and rose. I think rose gold has quite a bit of copper in it which tends to irritate.
